Hoss
Regardless of their intentions to tank or not, trading away Yakupov, eberle, RNH, and/or Hall is a necessity for Edmonton. One, if not two of those need to be moved. Well that's the best way for them to acquire vet talent that makes a large difference, ya.
thewookie1
Edmonton is the ultimate example of how not to build a team, and actually gives me more faith in our rebuild to be honest. Edm: Many high picks, all but one were practically carbon copies Vet presence was mediocre or non-existent at best aside from Smyth. Poor Andrew Ference is practically on an island out there. Trades have aimed to plug holes, even in the beginning Buf: Fewer high picks thus far, however we've drafted a wide-array of prospects Vet presence was ok last year, this year they worked their way into literally getting a small leadership team of Gionta and Georges (I honestly feel that was genius since they are of different positions, both seasoned, and both can give stories from Montreal from different views) (Sorta like how a coach likes to bring in his guys because they compliment each other's skills) For proof look at the draft picks the last 8 drafts in comparison. 2007 No Pick 2008 NHL Entry 1 26 Tyler Ennis F 2008 NHL Entry 1 12 Tyler Myers D 2009 NHL Entry 1 13 Zack Kassian F 2010 NHL Entry 1 23 Mark Pysyk D 2011 NHL Entry 1 16 Joel Armia F 2012 NHL Entry 1 14 Zemgus Girgensons F 2012 NHL Entry 1 12 Mikhail Grigorenko F 2013 NHL Entry 1 16 Nikita Zadorov D 2013 NHL Entry 1 8 Rasmus Ristolainen D 2014 NHL Entry 1 2 Sam Reinhart F 6 Fs, 4 Ds 2007 NHL Entry 1 21 Riley Nash F 2007 NHL Entry 1 15 Alex Plante D 2007 NHL Entry 1 6 Sam Gagner F 2008 NHL Entry 1 22 Jordan Eberle F 2009 NHL Entry 1 10 Magnus Paajarvi F 2010 NHL Entry 1 1 Taylor Hall F 2011 NHL Entry 1 19 Oscar Klefbom D 2011 NHL Entry 1 1 Ryan Nugent-Hopkins F 2012 NHL Entry 1 1 Nail Yakupov F 2013 NHL Entry 1 7 Darnell Nurse D 2014 NHL Entry 1 3 Leon Draisaitl F 8 Fs, 3 D However Alex Plante hasn't played since 2011-2012 and played 10 total in his career Edited December 6, 2014 by thewookie1
Hoss
Kevin Devine must stick with this organization... I didnt want him sticking around at one point just because I wanted COMPLETE overhaul, but look at that list wookie just posted. Not a single one is out of a chance of having a legitimate role on an NHL role with some high-level talent mixed in.
bunomatic
Edmontons a red hot mess. MacT all but blamed everyone but himself. When he said that this was something they had to do to get to that next level my first thought was what is it that you have to do Craig, Lose ? They are obviously in on tanking . pi2000
It was never off. You are correct. Sabres goaltending is coming back down to earth as I predicted a couple losses in a row and everybody is back on the tankwagon.
Johnny DangerFace
I think its an easy concept for most fans. We root for them to win, and when they win the tank is off and we are happy. When they lose, the tank is on and we are happy for potential prospects. Its a win-win

That's what I like to see. I'm also hoping the recent poor effort by some raises their selling price and are shipped off ASAP. Edm is our most serious threat. IKnowPhysics
Brace yourselves. We're dead last in goals scored per game- 27% fewer goals per game (1.59) than the next lowest team (2.18). We're 25th in goals against per game. Our 5-on-5 GF/GA is worst in the league. Our goal differential is league worst. Our home goal differential is 2nd worst at -9. Our road goal differential is phenomenally bad at-30. Our powerplay percentage is by far the worst in the league at 6%. Next lowest is 11%. We're 3rd in PIM committed per game. We lead the league in major penalties. We're 9th in minor penalties. Our penalty killing percentage is 23rd at 78.1%. We're dead last in shots for per game. We're dead last in shots against per game. We're dead last in winning percentage when the opponent scores first - 6.3%. We're dead last in faceoff percentage at 42.2%, fwiw. We have the most regulation losses in the league. bunomatic
It feels great actually leading in some categories for once. For years as a Sabres fan I'd follow stats and never find any categories that we actually led. Oh there were a few to be sure. When Hasek was in his prime he led the league in a few stats. When LaFontaine and Mogilny played together we led in some stats but not like this year. This year we are rockin it as far as leading some big asss categories. I feel so much pride.
