beerme1 Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 I think the Coyotes did a better job than the Sabres. Murray was unable to trade Andrej Meszaros ,Andre Benoit, Tyson Strachan, Matt Ellis or Pat Kaleta for which he will receive nothing at the end of the season. I have been underwhelmed by Murray since he was hired and today only reinforced that idea. (p.s. Boston gave up two 2nd round picks for Connolly from Tampa and he has only scored 18 goals since 2011-2012) . I stopped reading at Matt Ellis and hope you understand why the d men were kept. Quote
carpandean Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Interesting stats: Chris Stewart: Before New Years: 37GP 5G 5A 10P (0.270 PPG) After New Years: 24GP 6G 9A 15P (0.625 PPG) Antoine Vermette: Before New Years: 37GP 10G 15A 25P (0.676 PPG) After New Years: 26GP 3G 7A 10P (0.385 PPG) In particular, in March: 14GP 2G 2A 4P (0.286 PPG) Maybe, Vermette was acting Tank Commander in Phoenix Arizona. If they call up some eager young buck, then perhaps he improves their team. Edited March 3, 2015 by carpandean Quote
Brawndo Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 @MikeMiccoli: .@Real_ESPNLeBrun reports that Bruins offered Spooner & a 2nd for Chris Stewart in October, but Sabres wanted to wait for better offer. Oof. Quote
inkman Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 @MikeMiccoli: .@Real_ESPNLeBrun reports that Bruins offered Spooner & a 2nd for Chris Stewart in October, but Sabres wanted to wait for better offer. Oof.I still think Spooner is Phil Varone Quote
Brawndo Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 I still think Spooner is Phil Varone I agree. With the dearth of forwards, he would have made a nice addition for the Amerks. Then again maybe he wasn't sold on Spooner. Quote
Brawndo Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 There is also a report that the Bruins wanted Neuvirth, Stewart, and Flynn for two seconds. Murray wanted a specific prospect, Subban?, that Chiarelli would not give up. Instead they settled on The deal with The Bolts Quote
Huckleberry Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 @MikeMiccoli: .@Real_ESPNLeBrun reports that Bruins offered Spooner & a 2nd for Chris Stewart in October, but Sabres wanted to wait for better offer. Oof. Gambled that stewart would perform better i guess, but still i wouldn't have done that back then either. Quote
dudacek Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Considering Spooner is Phil Varone, and has no future on a team with Reinhart, Girgorenko, and Girgensons (not mention Larsson, Schaller, Compher and possibly McEcihel) I don't think Murray lost much by waiting. Quote
