JJFIVEOH Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Aggressive not stupid Exactly. This is beyond stupid. Quote
nucci Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 if this is true im going to throw up Really? kind of an overreaction, isn't it? Quote
That Aud Smell Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Psssh. Fuggit. All this hand-wringing about - who? what? - a couple of prospects? It's a blockbuster trade. You know who almost always wins those? The team getting the best player in the deal. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Bogosian and Kane were both top-5 overall picks. I think I see a trend. We have a billion forward prospects and can only have 50 (?) pro contracts. It makes sense to give up some. We still have quite a few good forward prospects coming through the system. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 There's entertainment value in people decrying this as a patently stupid trade. Quote
Claude_Verret Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 It may seem steep, but these are the types of deals that hoarding picks and prospects allow you to make. Quote

JJFIVEOH Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Please God no, I like Lemieux and that's way to much for too little That's way too much for a RISK. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Per Puck Daddy: Buffalo trade, like it or not, seems like part of Sabres plan to act like LA Kings: Amass assets; trade them + youth for established players It may seem steep, but these are the types of deals that hoarding picks and prospects allow you to make. Hell yes. Quote
zevo Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Really? kind of an overreaction, isn't it? actually i would feel better if the first wasnt thrown in there Quote
Sam Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Stafford is good for what? for roughly the same amount of points Kane has been putting up. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 There's entertainment value in people decrying this as a patently stupid trade. I'm not laughing. Quote
nucci Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 actually i would feel better if the first wasnt thrown in there fair enough Quote
shrader Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Psssh. Fuggit. All this hand-wringing about - who? what? - a couple of prospects? It's a blockbuster trade. You know who almost always wins those? The team getting the best player in the deal. I bet if it was someone other than Lemieux, the reaction wouldn't be as strong. His pedigree makes him incredibly intriguing as a prospect. No one else in our system has that going for him. Bailey has the homer pedigree going for him, but that's it. Quote
Sam Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 actually i would feel better if the first wasnt thrown in there that would even it out quite a bit more Quote
zevo Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 There's entertainment value in people decrying this as a patently stupid trade. i would never call this stupid....its murray putting his nuts on the table....and them be some pretty big nuts Quote
thewookie1 Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Take out the 1st and Lemieux Quote
Huckleberry Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Well baptiste + compher + bailey + fashing might ease the fact we lose armia + lemieux. Quote
nucci Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Take out the 1st and Lemieux Then you're not getting Kane Quote
shrader Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Take out the 1st and Lemieux Take out everything and just send them Matt Ellis. Quote
Samson's Flow Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 There's got to be some "other stuff" thrown in on WPG's side. The tweets from Dreger have mentioned there may be more than the principles mentioned. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 I'm not laughing. That's on you, then. I like GMTM. I believe in him, and will continue to do so until it's shown that his plan has fallen apart or failed to take shape. He's a hockey man. A real one. I'm not. Neither are you. None of us are. Onward! i would never call this stupid....its murray putting his nuts on the table....and them be some pretty big nuts I don't disagree. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 It is so nice not having Darcy as GM. Well baptiste + compher + bailey + fashing might ease the fact we lose armia + lemieux. Yep. And, of course, Samson + McEichel. We have forward prospects all over the place. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Good Tweet: How it works out- Armia, Lemieux and the late 1st for Kane. Myers for Bogosian, and throwing in Stafford to sweeten it I'm just not sure how Stafford sweetens it. Is it sweetening in our favor, with the Jets taking him off of our hands? Quote
wnyguy Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 You have to give something to get something. I'd do the deal. Quote
