SabresBillsFan Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) I've been hoping Myers and McCabe would be a long-term match. Their games seem well-matched. I'm officially a McCabe fan. He's got Weber's battle, but with brains and skill. Kid is going to play in this league for a long-time. The less we see Weber the better. I get it Weber works hard and plays physical but it seems like he always out there for a lot of goals against. If your gonna be a stay at home defenseman u need to be solid in your own end. ...Meanwhile Sam Bennett is killing it I'm thinking Bennett skating ability is making him standout. Speed kills in this league. That's one thing I think Reinhart needs to improve. Edited September 27, 2014 by SabresBillsFan Quote
Drunkard Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I'd like to keep both (assuming they have a season showing their worthy of keeping). Would be nice to have some veterans going forward and the cap won't be an issue. Stewart is everything Murray wants, quick, big and can score........ Staff seemed to be a completely new player when Nolan came in. He seems to actually want to stay and be a leader moving forward. I say keep them both. Ok, so let's say Stafford has another good contract season and with a week to go before the deadline he's sitting on something like 26 goals and 20 assists. What type of contract do you offer him and what do you do if he asks for something like 30 million over 5 or 6 years? Quote
inkman Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I've definitely had enough of Mike Weber. If only to move onto the next goat Quote
darksabre Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 One good punch by McCormick was all it took. Nice. Quote
Claude Balls Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Ouch.....McCormick drilled Clarkson. Looks like his eye was swelling up already. Quote

What type of contract do you offer him and what do you do if he asks for something like 30 million over 5 or 6 years? Using your scenario, I would trade him before the deadline. But.......... it's highly unlikely that will happen. Even Stafford knows he'll never get that kind of contract from anybody. I would think if contract talks started around the midpoint of the season that Stafford would be open about what he expects in order for Murray to make the right move; to make the necessary move to benefit both parties. I can't see Stafford being the kind of guy to say 'I'm going to wait until after the season to explore my options'. If he's serious about being a leader going forward, and wants to stay in BFLO like he's said.......... I can see a contact getting done before the trade deadline. Quote
darksabre Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I really like Torrey Mitchell's hustle. Quote
... Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I'm pleased with his play. I think he's staying or something No. Quote

He's currently 28 years old and he already makes 4 million a season. He's going to expect a raise if he's having a good season. Free agents always get over paid and given his age this would be his last chance to really cash in. Given his history of performing in contract years I'd sell them off to the highest bidder in a heart beat. Quote
darksabre Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Foligno Stewart Mitchell is a great fourth line. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Good night, that's game..... Myers is weak and neuvirth is bad.. I didn't like Hodgson game tonight. A+ to Stewart tho Quote
Randall Flagg Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I thought Myers looked pretty good Quote

Like I said, if he's as gung ho about moving forward as a leader on this team as he says he is, he won't be holding out to find that $6mil/yr contract. He'll sign a worthy contract before the deadline. I don't think Murray is going to want to wait until the end of the season to prepare for the draft. He'll want to be ready as soon as possible. This all depends on how much Stafford wants to stay, how early Murray is willing to deal, and how well he's playing at the time. If he stands firm on 5yr/$30mil, I agree with you, I say trade him. But, that's not going to happen. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Maybe I'll rephrase.... Myers can't fight lol Quote
darksabre Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Good for Cody. Broke a dude's face and got a goal. Quote
dudacek Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Phaneuf with yet another cheap shot. Quote
darksabre Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Phaneuf with yet another cheap shot. I love it. What a dink. I can't wait for the regular season. Quote
bunomatic Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 we look to be in mid-season form. Quote
BuffaloBorn Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I found it kinda funny how he mentions McDavid ...prophesy? Quote
dudacek Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 We're going to see a lot more games like that this year. Games that we are in, and maybe deserve to win, but we lose because we make a key mistake or our goalie lays an egg. I guess it's a step up from Ron Rolston hockey. Quote
