TrueBlueGED Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 What was league average goal differential in 75 vs 06? I have no idea how close the 75 team really was, but I think the 06 team was closer than the 99 team. And yes, I'm aware that 2<5 ;) Quote
Taro T Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 What was league average goal differential in 75 vs 06? I have no idea how close the 75 team really was, but I think the 06 team was closer than the 99 team. And yes, I'm aware that 2<5 ;) Wouldn't the average leaguewide goal differential be 0.0 in both years? (Caveat - Neglecting any effect in '06 of giving the SO winner an extra goal for - not certain the loser of the SO gets credited w/ a goal against; if the SO winner counts both ways, that would still average to 0.0.) Aggregate absolute value of goal differential was definitely higher in '75. Habs had a +149 and Caps had an astounding -265 that year. In '06, Otters had +103 (only team in entire league to top +100; 4 squads +100 or better in '75) and St. Loses had a -95. Much closer games in general. Quote
