LGR4GM Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Never mind my question about toughness...
Johnny DangerFace Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Never mind my question about toughness... ha! Also, I know i'v said this before, but I really like deslauriers as a grinder on this team. He is a very good fighter, hustles, hits, etc.
Hoss Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Tank looked healthy again tonight, at least in the 2nd period. Yea, I had a cough for a week and a half but I woke up with no issues today.
Johnny DangerFace Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Yea, I had a cough for a week and a half but I woke up with no issues today. so dumb :w00t:
Johnny DangerFace Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 And I didn't mean it in a negative way
Hoss Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 And I didn't mean it in a negative way  Then my thanks wasn't sarcastic.
X. Benedict Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 ha! Also, I know i'v said this before, but I really like deslauriers as a grinder on this team. He is a very good fighter, hustles, hits, etc. I just love the crazy-ass smile he has when he's looking for a dance partner.
Rasmus_ Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Back: Not sure I was missed. However, holy hell while I was on vacation did the Sabres pull off some nice wins. They're still within reach of the worst record, even after that 7 in 9 winning streak. Heh.
shrader Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 I feel a 5 game losing streak coming on right now. That seemed to be their MO last year with Nolan, string together a decent run and then fall right back off, so I expect the same here. This one is obviously better than anything he strung together last year, but I expect more of the same.
LGR4GM Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 So now we can see what the top of the NHL looks like when they are on against a team like Buffalo. It ain't pretty. Still a long ways to get to the top but...
Johnny DangerFace Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Never mind my question about toughness... Also just saw this article about biggest hitting prospects: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/115823/top-five-biggest-hitters-among-nhl-prospects/ Sabres take the top two spots! (I know it wasn't your point but still fun)
Doohicksie Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 ...plus an honorable mention to Hudson Fasching. I just love the crazy-ass smile he has when he's looking for a dance partner. That alone is enough to scare off the likes of Hedman. Nikita does it too.
bunomatic Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 Also just saw this article about biggest hitting prospects: http://www.hockeysfu...-nhl-prospects/ Sabres take the top two spots! (I know it wasn't your point but still fun) Thanks for that. I feel better already. I want this team to make opposing players heads stay on a swivel. Give me more please.
TrueBlueGED Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/12005550/magic-johnson-says-hopes-los-angeles-lakers-lose-every-game Magic freakin' Johnson favors tanking!!!!!!! I know one player in the NBA means more than one player in the NHL, but the NBA draft is also much more uncertain.
K-9 Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 Haven't we come to the point where we can safely concede Zemgus will be at least a second-liner? His work ethic and defensive game are not in dispute. He's 62nd in the league in goals and a plus player on the league's worst plus-minus team. He plays in all situations. And he's only 20 years old. Regardless of what line he ends up playing most in his career (and I don't really care), there is no disputing his contribution. He has something you can't coach. And like you said, he's only 20. Just wait until he fills out and learns the game a bit more. I think 2nd line just may be his floor when it's all said and done. GO BILLS!!!
LabattBlue Posted December 15, 2014 Author Report Posted December 15, 2014 Haven't seen the Sabres at all over the last week and a half as I was out of town. The tank is sputtering. Can someone gas that baby up and get a full load of ammo on it?
Jsixspd Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 In hindsight, it's probably no surprise the team would do better without Ville Leino taking up all that ice time. When he was on the ice, it was like we were playing shorthanded. So who is our "Leino" this year? Whoever the 2014-15 Leino is, or will be, GMTM needs to give orders to Nolan that he be played at least 20 minutes per game. That would help get the tank back on track.

Top pairing minutes will get the tank back on track.
Jsixspd Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 40 minutes combined per game for Mez and Benoit just might make for an epic Tank. GMTM needs to make it so.
Hoss Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 There's isn't much help on the way this offseason, for the record. The best free agent is... Marc Staal. The best offensive free agent? Marty St. Louis. He's not coming here. After that? 5'9 Mats Zuccarello. After that? Nothing. Really pray we're not about to become a team that gives a guy like Zuccarello a stupid contract just because. It's going to come down to what the young guys bring next season. With no top prospect coming via the draft this year it's going to be harder to bite the bullet on a big trade.

Hoss Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 And he is talking about joining his brothers and Eichel in Carolina. Either that or just staying in NY. He won't be here. Not that we need him. This team is going to have to sit around and wait for its prospects and pray.
Johnny DangerFace Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 I think its almost 100% that grigorenko, reinhart, pysyk, and larsson start the year in Buffalo. Armia and Schaller also will be fighting for a roster spot. So there is going to be some new faces for sure
