Claude_Verret Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 I will never cheer for the team that stole a Stanley Cup from Buffalo and plays for a fanbase that gives 0 f###s about said team unless they are good. I'll root for Satan if it helps the Sabres in the quest for McEichel. Quote

LGR4GM Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Pittsburgh? ;) lol... you could make that argument I have a deep seeded loathing for the Hurricanes. I'll root for Satan if it helps the Sabres in the quest for McEichel. Didn't Miroslav retire? Quote
ddaryl Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 I will never cheer for the team that stole a Stanley Cup from Buffalo and plays for a fanbase that gives 0 f###s about said team unless they are good. I will because its whats best for the Sabres Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 I will because its whats best for the Sabres Since I was one of the first people advocating tanking a season back when DR was GM and we only had to suffer a 48 game lockout season to get MacKinnon, I won't. The Canes can do whatever the hell they want. If we draft 1st or 5th we will still get a very high quality forward in this draft. Quote
Weave Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 I have to say, I don't understand the mentality of wanting the team you follow to lose because you see a benefit, but won't root for another specific team to win when it benefits the team you follow. Seems bass ackwards to me. Quote
LastPommerFan Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Half of the Isles top 6 is currently on the IR. From what I'm seeing, Boychuk will be the only blue-liner who's not been in the AHL at least once in the past 2 seasons. Quote

Seems bass ackwards to me. To be clear, I expect the Sabres to be bad but I am not rooting for them to lose just so we can get Eichel or McDavid. I am full on win. Half of the Isles top 6 is currently on the IR. From what I'm seeing, Boychuk will be the only blue-liner who's not been in the AHL at least once in the past 2 seasons. I can only find info that shows Grabner as the only injured forward. Quote

LGR4GM Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/injuries So yea, just Grabner is injured. The rest are defenders. Quote
shrader Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 So yea, just Grabner is injured. The rest are defenders. Read this post again very carefully: Half of the Isles top 6 is currently on the IR. Hoss Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 I will because I believe its whats best for the Sabres FTFY Quote

MattPie Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Seems like a semantics argument to be all in on the tank and not rooting for them to lose. I think it's pretty easy to see the point of: - watching a game, want the team to play well and win - after they lose, not being upset with it - realizing that one more crappy season may be worth it in the long run Naw. I'm okay. RU sure? Quote

Quote
MattPie Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Basically yes, and not being upset if say we finish 25th instead of 30th. I'd prefer 30th of course. 20th would be a disaster. I like Hodgson and all, but he was a 10th-overall pick in 2008. The Sabres need someone significant in this draft, seems like most years by time you get to 5-6th pick guys already have flaws and more risk. Quote
Crusader1969 Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Just no 3 point game when Islanders play another bottom feeder! If you want some good news on the Islanders being bad - Corey Conacher (I believe) is a top line winger. Quote
