Brawndo Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 51s Meszaros to Buffalo. 1 yr, just over $4 mil. Edited July 1, 2014 by BRAWNDO Quote
dudacek Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Well, there it goes, the last domino to fill out the roster and get to the floor. Liked Meszaros when he's on his game. Not sure he has much game left. Definitely a show-me contract. Quote
Hoss Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Really like this one, too. We've got leaders on D (Gorges, Meszaros and even Myers now) to go along with Risto, McCabe, Zadorov, Weber, Ruhwedel fighting for the three spots. Then we have the leaders on offense added today, too. Quote
Brawndo Posted July 1, 2014 Author Report Posted July 1, 2014 Matt Larkin @THNMattLarkin 1m Meszaros to Buffalo on a one-year deal is smart. Helps reach cap floor, plus he's flippable at the deadline for a draft pick. Quote

Iron Crotch Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 We needed another d-man. And, we got one! Quote
Rasmus_ Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 He's a good guy on a limited basis. A nice little add-in. I guess that's it folks. Quote
Brawndo Posted July 1, 2014 Author Report Posted July 1, 2014 CapGeek @capgeek 2m The #Sabres no longer have floor problems. They've hit $50.9M in cap payroll with 20 players on the roster. http://www.capgeek.com/sabres/ Quote

nfreeman Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Good pickup. He was healthy-scratched a bunch of times last year but has a ton of experience and is a good skater with good size. And it's basically a no-risk deal. Not sure if TM was in Ottawa when Messy was there, but presumably there's some institutional knowledge. Quote
Taro T Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 They still won't score much and the goaltending will be weaker than last year. We are still on track. Keep Sam and Nikita down in juniors. With them, this team is now mediocre, scary mediocre. (I do like the signing.) Quote
LabattBlue Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 To think at one time the Sens blueline looked so promising with Chara, Redden, Volchenkov, Phillips, and Mezsaros. Quote
Kelly the Dog Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 This will help the tank. I was getting a little worried for a moment. He will replace Ehrhoff, only not as good. Quote
matter2003 Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 6' 2" 218 lbs...that's some good size... Quote
Brawndo Posted July 1, 2014 Author Report Posted July 1, 2014 Lauren Brill @LaurenBrill4 14m I have confirmed Sabres signed D Andrej Meszaros to a one-year 4.125 million dollar deal. John Vogl @BuffNewsVogl 15m About to walk one block from The News to Sabres' arena. How many moves does Tim Murray make in that time? Three? Four? :clapping: Quote
That Aud Smell Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Sure, why not. well said. and in GM TM we trust: He said reaching the floor was a non-issue, and so it is. Quote

Iron Crotch Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) This. I guess the young guys won't be seeing much time in the bigs this year. Not before the deadline, anyway. They will get plenty of time. Our only veteran d-men are Myers, Gorges, Weber, and now Meszaros. That leaves young guys for the other 3 spots: Some combination of Risto, Pysyk, Rudy and McCabe.
