WildCard Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Quotes the current press conference: Reporter: "Are you done?" Murray: "Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know. Well, I do know, but I'm not going to tell you." "People can get on the bandwagon early or late, but get on it early. We take this seriously. Does anybody not love this guy yet? Reminded me of this. darksabre Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 It's so obvious that he doesn't think anyone in that Buffalo media is on his level. I love it. I guess coming from somewhere like Ottawa the Buffalo guys must seem like nothing. Quote
dEnnis the Menace Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I love this guy more and more with every press conference. me too! Quote
Stoner Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 I love this guy more and more with every press conference. That's great, for now. Will we love this guy more and more with every season? Quote
inkman Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 That's great, for now. Will we love this guy more and more with every season? If they draft Eichel or McDavid, and keep improving year to year? Absolutely. Quote
Guest Sloth Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) If they draft Eichel or McDavid, and keep improving year to year? Absolutely. Buffalo could possibly become the Detroit of old. Have a great farm system, developed to have a completive NHL team and the ability to sign quality free agents to top things off. It'd be a continuous, never appearing to end cycle. Man, if Murray can pull that off.... Edited July 2, 2014 by thanes16 Quote
beerme1 Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 That's great, for now. Will we love this guy more and more with every season? While cleaning up Darcys messes yes. Once he starts making his own? We'll see. But right now clearly to be against him is ridiculous. Quote
LastPommerFan Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 That's great, for now. Will we love this guy more and more with every season? The only thing that will matter is wins. Quote
... Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 The AC at the reception has died and its like 90to degrees out. Bad things happen eventually always. How one responds is the question. Quote
biodork Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 That's great, for now. Will we love this guy more and more with every season? We shall see, but he's off to a helluva good start! Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 The only thing that will matter is wins. In a sense. But I loved Buddy Nix and wish he still gave Bills pressers, even though I didn't think much of him as a GM. Quote
X. Benedict Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 In a sense. But I loved Buddy Nix and wish he still gave Bills pressers, even though I didn't think much of him as a GM. I always wanted to put a bluegrass band behind that guy at his pressers. Like Scruggs and Flatts Quote
Marvelo Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 Thank you to PLF for the assist at finding this brilliant hockey gnome. Quote
Kristian Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 But who's going to replace Darcy ? Who is this "Darcy" you speak of....? Quote
sabills Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Saw GMTM at the scrimmage last night. Sat with the rest of the Sabres crew, but at least a seat away from everyone, arms crossed, looking bemused the whole time. I love this guy. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 looking bemused the whole time. I feel like Inigo (sic) Montoya: That word 'bemused,' I do not think it means what you think it means. Unless you're saying GMTM looks puzzled or confused. Quote
Huckleberry Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Nice to come home from a men's league game and hear all about these signings. I agree Sabres will need some growing up, but the D is solidified with Georges and Mazaros. Myers is expendable now and can be traded for another number 1 in 2015 and the Sabres gained some veteran leadership for the young guys. All smiles... if Murray does not do anything more except deal with Myers till next years draft he has done more that Darcy did competently in 16 years here. Wow.... I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't an incoming train... No he isn't, and it would have to be a top 3 pick in 2015 to start with. Quote

HopefulFuture Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Mr. Pegula has had his honeymoon, spend to try and compete, early stage. Since, he's hired Mr. Murray and the blueprint appears to be taking shape nicely. Murray heaven? No, this is still Hockey Heaven, the road needed more than a few cold patches is all, now that it's getting paved correctly it should make for a smoother ride to competitive games that are fun at FNC. Well done Mr. Pegula, Well done Sir! Quote

Doohicksie Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 I thought bemused was good for the usage. Quote
Campy Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 Really good write up about how GMTM has ensured the kids can move up when they're ready. http://twointhebox.com/2014/07/18/clever-contract-manuvering-gives-murray-flexibility/ Quote
HopefulFuture Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 Really good write up about how GMTM has ensured the kids can move up when they're ready. http://twointhebox.c...ay-flexibility/ That is an interesting look at the Sabres contract situation to be sure. Moulson and Gionta are the most interesting aspects of this, with the date on Gionta's NMC shifting over to a limited NTC, I have to wonder if Murray wouldn't be looking to move them after the 2/3 season mark as well. Time limit on instilling character and leadership qualities on the kids? Quote
