With Chuck Fletcher in Buffalo he is trading for a goalie... Out of Phoenix. McKenzie reporting he's getting Devan Dubnyk from them... For a third.

Arizona has recalled a goalie from the ECHL to fill Dubnyk's spot... how the heck do they not have someone better in Portland to call up??

And info on Maloney's thoughts on the Dubynk trade:

General Manager Don Maloney said he made the deal for three reasons.

"Devan played very well for us during his time in Arizona, however, this trade accomplishes three things for us. First, we acquired a good asset that we can use in the future. Second, it allows us to take a look at a couple of our younger goaltenders in our system – Louis Domingue and Mike Lee – to see where they are in their development. And finally, it will put Mike Smith back in our net on a permanent basis to get him back to the level we know he can play at. We believe in Mike."

Smith has posted a 7-17-2 record and a 3.52 goals-against average this season for the Coyotes. Maloney and Head Coach Dave Tippett are hopeful he can improve on those numbers with a heavy workload in the second half of the season.

Brad Marchand has a hearing with the NHL for a blatantly horrendous slew foot on Derick Brassard.

And here is the NHL player safety explanation... wonder if it will change magically because he is a Bruin.

Tuesday March 17th. If this team wants to walk away from this season with its head up, someone will pound Marchand in that game. I hate that guy,

Paging Nick Deslauriers, Nick Deslauriers to the nearest blue n gold courtesy phone please.

I completely agree, there is a name for Marchand but it isn't used in high society, outside of a kennel.

I love how the NHL has to make this distinction where slew footing without the upper body brace in open ice is not worthy of supplemental discipline. That alone is a despicable and dangerous act. Oh, NHL.

I prefer to call him....Kaleta with talent and an extra 12 IQ points......

He's a way bigger coward than Kaleta has ever been. He literally hides behind his teammates. I don't know how someone hasn't tried to seriously injure him yet. His play is despicable.

If you watch a

, that last line is: "Does that look like a slewfoot to you, Jack? I'm gonna say no," "No, I didn't see..."

Jerks.

One of these days the Sabres and Bruins will have a line brawl, and the Bruins won't like the outcome.

Bridgestone Arena was absolutely rocking tonight for Barry Trotz's return to Nashville. 4-3 come from behind win for the Preds over the Caps. Was like a playoff game with both teams giving everything on every shift. The arena was deafening.

30 wins now for the Preds.

We struggled to survive for so long but now, having stable ownership means we have a long-term plan,” Maloney said. “That may result in some long nights ahead of us but ultimately, the goal is to get where L.A. and Anaheim and Chicago are — to become a perennial playoff team.

Who was the CEO in the late 80's that was notorious for coming in to tear apart and sell off companies?

Its funny reading all 3 coyotes fans argue in the comments section of that article. The regier rebuild will alienate an already paper thin fanbase in the desert to the point of crushing that franchise. But maybe thats the plan ? Create more reason for league help to get out of town. It would be easier to sell that team with a franchise/generational talent in the mix.
