Stoner Posted December 25, 2014 Report Posted December 25, 2014 The tele. That's so 2004. No online video yet? I've been looking. I guess the skeptic in means keeps thinking it's the Canadian version of ESPN or something. Since when does ESPN care about hockey? Quote

I guess the skeptic in means keeps thinking it's the Canadian version of ESPN or something. Since when does ESPN care about hockey? Bucci probably had something to do with it. Ovi's goal was pretty high, too. Tarasenko's goal wasn't in the top 50, though. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Lou behind the bench for the Devils with Oates and Stevens So Lou is overseeing things temporarily and the Stevens/Oats will co-coach. Ladies and gentlemen, the Devils are in full tank mode. Quote
wjag Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) So Lou is overseeing things temporarily and the Stevens/Oats will co-coach. Ladies and gentlemen, the Devils are in full tank mode. Lou has pulled this stunt before. He didn't tank last time. Then again, he was fighting for a playoff spot and not a draft position. Jagr won't let him tank. If they truly want to tank, they should give Schneider a rest. Edited December 27, 2014 by wjag Quote
Hoss Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 This is a ridiculous situation. At some point the owner has to step in and ask what the ###### are you doing? Quote

Was it a flat structure like this last time? I know he went behind the bench before, but this setup seems unprecedented. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 If by flat you mean GM/coach, yes it was the same. He assumed all control. I mean flat from a purely coaching perspective. The tweets I read made it sound like Stevens is exclusively defense, Oates is exclusively forwards, and Lou is temporarily overseeing things. The way I read it, he doesn't even plan on staying on the bench the full season, so you'd end up a with two coaches splitting duties, but no head man. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) I believe that is a unique work arrangement and uniquely unworkable work arrangement Yea, the whole thing just seems insane. It's also possible I interpreted it wrong, because I can't see Lamoriello doing something this crazy. Edit: apparently I had it right.
