TrueBlueGED Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Brodeur simply isn't good anymore and hasn't been for years. I'd rather start Nathan Lieuwen at this point. Quote
X. Benedict Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Brodeur simply isn't good anymore and hasn't been for years. I'd rather start Nathan Lieuwen at this point. Well, maybe true. But not based on that goal. Those goals just happen from time to time. A puck with eyes. Crazy. Quote
Hoss Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Yea that was an insane bounce... But I don't understand the appeal of signing Brodeur other than selling tickets which a contender can't worry about. It's going to be a sad day when they release him in a month. Quote

Didn't we get into an argument in the offseason about whether Brodeur could still play? Glad to see you came around ;) Quote

Glad to see you came around ;) Well I thought he would have value as a guy that played extremely sparingly. On a contending team that had an established number one. St. Louis isn't that. Bad situation for him and the team. Somewhere like Pittsburgh would've made sense. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 Things are going to get really ugly in this Cats-Pens game! Quote
wjag Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 Steve Ott got his first goal of the season last night. Is he ahead of his seasonal pace? Always fun to watch http://video.flames.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=2014020489-68-h Quote

I don't think Brodeur is the kind of goalie that can be "used sparingly." When was at his prime he was ridden hard and put away wet, playing more than 70 games per season, for years. I don't think he'd be very good playing sparingly. Quote

Iron Crotch Posted December 23, 2014 Report Posted December 23, 2014 So much for the Blue Jackets being red hot. The Preds are crushing them in Columbus. 5-0 right now. The Preds transition game is impressive. Quote
