Doohicksie Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 They had Ed Balfour in the Stars booth for the game (I think he was just visiting) had them cue that assist up several times in a row. I hated him when he played but I thought the way he kept asking for the replay was kind of funny. Quote

LGR4GM Posted November 24, 2014 Author Report Posted November 24, 2014 Quick name EDM's top 3 defensive prospects. Now name Buffalo's. Now you know why we aren't EDM. Thank you all for coming to my lecture, I hope you have a wonderful afternoon. Quote

qwksndmonster Posted November 24, 2014 Report Posted November 24, 2014 And this is why Edmonton drafting third this year makes so much sense. And why we will all laugh when the pick the BPA forward at 3. Quote
LGR4GM Posted November 24, 2014 Author Report Posted November 24, 2014 And why we will all laugh when the pick the BPA forward at 3. They will take Konecny at 3rd... nothing like small undersized fowards to fix Edmonton. Quote

LGR4GM Posted November 24, 2014 Author Report Posted November 24, 2014 Edmonton just fired their Goaltending coach. Edmonton Oilers The #Oilers have relieved goaltender coach Frederic Chabot of his duties. Dustin Schwartz will replace Chabot in the role. Quote

3putt Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 There was a quaint saying about a leaky toilet in Altoona and water damage in Johnstown. It escapes me at the moment but I think it is appropriate here. Quote
bunomatic Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 Problem solved. Now MacT says he's looking for a top line centre. I thought it was D and goaltending and a veteran presence that was shortchanging them. Quote

LGR4GM Posted November 25, 2014 Author Report Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) It's probably all 3 It is definitely all 3. That is what happens when you spend multiple 1st round picks on literally the same player; Average size, high skill, no grit, defensive question marks. Doesn't really make your forwards well rounded. It puts more pressure on your defense which is an AHL defense to begin with. Then you have GT... Edited November 25, 2014 by LGR4GM Quote
LGR4GM Posted November 25, 2014 Author Report Posted November 25, 2014 Everything wrong with the Oilers that reminds me of 2011 Buffalo When veteran defenceman Michal Rozsival belted Edmonton’s latest 19-year-old star player into the boards dangerously from behind, the Edmonton response was to do nothing. To not care. Rozsival had Draisaitl’s back, why should they? Draisaitl’s teammates basically told the rest of the league, “This is our youngest, most vulnerable player, but you can do to him whatever you wish with absolute impunity.” Leon Draisaitl, a 19-year-old kid from Germany being forced into NHL action because GM Craig MacTavish came up short at centre again this season, was left completely on his own. skaught Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 Oh that's way worse than the 2011 Sabres, you should watch the Miller/Lucic thing again, compared to that Oilers hit, the Sabres had a huge response. Quote

Yep. They are least did the token clutch and grab. You could tell Gaustad was ready to swing his purse at Lucic as well, but we didn't want to give up the power play. On a serious note, that was a despicable response by Edmonton. They should trade Eberle for Berglund, Ott, and a defenseman. Quote
