LTS
Lightning dropped Drouin to the 4th line. Cooper said he needs to learn how to play off the puck. Here's Grigorenko's number. Welcome to the NHL.
CallawaySabres
Maybe it's just me, but I think that when adults dress up as super heroes for Halloween, it just screams strange, unoriginal and honestly....creepy. I guess I have always thought you should throw some humor or darkness into the uni. If there was one picture to demonstrate this perfectly, I offer you Phaneuf... Stoner
I really miss that team. There were some legit gamers on those late 90s squads. The Sabres actually had an "attitude era". It feels like a long time ago now. :( I always felt like the addition of Vaclav Varada to the mix was the final piece. He drove the Flyers nuts in the playoffs. LGR4GM
So the Dallas Stars just tweeted this... Dallas Stars @DallasStars 50s50 seconds ago To this day, they say if you fondly remember '99, you can hear whimper "no goal". Then you remember aren't real. Oh and they included the picture too. LGR4GM
I guess it is a Halloween ghost emoji. I was tempted to send something back to the Dallas tweeter but as the kids say, "haters gonna hate" and "trolls gonna troll".

The Stars fans who go to the games are cool but I've also met a ton of people in town who had no idea that they won a championship in the 90s. Hoss
I'm glad that I'm JUST too young enough to be annoyed by the no goal but not full of hate haha. Wasn't a goal, but it was still game 6. A lot had to happen. Edited November 1, 2014 by Tankalicious
Taro T
They didn't win it. They were awarded it. Correct.
Stoner
Correct. In a way, there were two victims that night — both teams. It's a shame that Dallas' Cup had to have an asterisk engraved in it. I think we'll always disagree as to whether there was a conspiracy to allow a goal that shouldn't have counted (as opposed to merely a monumental ######up), but maybe we can agree on my first point. Stoner
I'm glad that I'm JUST too young enough to be annoyed by the no goal but not full of hate haha. Wasn't a goal, but it was still game 6. A lot had to happen. I do hate Bettman for continuing to defend the call, but, for me, everything that happened that night was just the league pulling a James Patrick and hitting the crossbar instead of putting it top shelf where momma hides the cookies. In other words, humans being human at 1:30 in the morning, under immense pressure. I also come back to the idea that that goal would have stood for generations before it, and will stand for generations to come. But for the league's asinine crease rule, it was a good goal. It's not like it never crossed the line, or was kicked in, or went through the side of the net. Meh. Whatever. We have the patience of Job. Our Cup will come. Eleven
Still no goal, James Patrick's shot notwithstanding. NO GOAL.
Stoner
No conspiracy, just a ###### call and no goal. I believe that would fall under "monumental ######up." And still a pretty fascinating situation to analyze, as I have over the years under Taro's astute guidance. It was tantalizingly close to being a good goal. If kicking the puck had constituted control, and if kicking that puck had represented "maintaining control," it's a good goal. Alas, in one section of the rule book at the time, control was defined only as stickhandling the puck, and I think "maintaining" was used in the memo because they wanted to see more than momentary control in order to allow a player to enter the crease ahead of the puck and score. In the end, Brian (or Bryan) Lewis surely mixed up possession and control.
wjag
NJ won in the SO last night against the Jets. It snapped an 18 game losing streak in the SO. Can you imagine losing 18 straight times in the SO? Last NJ victory came against the Jets.

Crazy thing here in Las Vegas their is supposedly talk between MGM and the nhl for expansion. Their is not enough hockey fans here in Las Vegas to support an nhl team. They could support a Basketball or a major league soccer team but nhl team is a big fat negative. I know the casino would use tickets for high rollers and other specials but I just don't seeing it working here. The cities that should get an expansion team is one that can actually keep the stands full.
