TrueBlueGED Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 I am 100% positive I would not be complaining if it were the Sabres, so yes, I'm a hypocrite...but seriously, how freakin' long does this need to be LA? Get on with the hockey! Quote
SwampD Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Gat Dang it's good to watch some hockey! Quote

Hoss Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 It's opening night and I'm already pulling for certain teams to win if they seem more likely to be in the tank chase... It's going to be a loonngggg (but somewhat fun) year. Quote
Andrew Amerk Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Did anyone else catch the Kings PA announcer introducing the team? He referred to Greene and Kopi as "assistant captains." Quote

bunomatic Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Apparently Bettman doesn't mind if Chris Pronger is hired by the department of player safety and remains employed and payed by Ed Snider. What a crock of ######. Cronyism is alive and well in the N.H.L. Quote

MattPie Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Miller won his first game for the Flames last night. Flames, Canucks...same thing Paul Byron (yes, that Paul Byron) scored on Miller to break his season shut out. :) Also, Kassian on an 82-goal (and point) pace! Quote

MattPie Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 and hodgpodge is pointless this season we so lost that trade..... Byron's name came up a lot in the game when I was listening. I listened to the end for the 1st on, and didn't hear Kassian's name until the second. I don't remember hearing it much after the goal (in the 2nd) either (the the Canuck feed). Quote

I have a theory that the league hires these guys to keep them quiet. I believe that these guys are probably textbook cases of the effects of concussions and the league doesn't want these big name guys in class action suits, so they employ them in shadow positions. See Pat LaFontaine. Quote
