shrader Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Awesome indeed. It's actually valid point in general, but when you get live matching donors.....it's more about the match. I'm sure the person will be in a Sens suite at some point....maybe for life. And certain people are able to draw in more potential volunteer donors. I just hope that some of the non-matches that came forward over the past week are still willing to give to blue collar Joe Canada who also happens to need a transplant and is a match. Quote

I just hope that some of the non-matches that came forward over the past week are still willing to give to blue collar Joe Canada who also happens to need a transplant and is a match. I think it does help. I know a transplant recipient that used their limelight to push the cause for others, and it really helped those that needed hope to keep chugging, and got a lot of people to at least sign up for the general donor list. It may be the toughest feeling in the world to see that happen to someone.....knowing they could be 100% if they just got a spare part, but might not make it to the next day without it. The process was on the up and up too. I was shocked how tight the process was. The person was high on the list anyway given their dynamics, but almost didn't make it. Maybe he still will. oof. I'd pay to see that! Quote

Hoss Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 I'm kind of surprised this isn't a topic that Drane has jumped all over. A story put out about rich guy who needs a liver and days later he gets one. If nothing else, I hope this raises awareness and some other people in need of transplants find what they're waiting for as well. I do think Melnyk owes it to liver patients everywhere to raise awareness at upcoming public appearances. Quote

X. Benedict Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Mike Babcock has been hired by the Leaves, reportedly on an 8yr/$50mil contract. That's a lot of cheddar. I'd wager that's twice than all previous Toronto coaches combined. Quote

Samson's Flow Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 I hated all those players minus a couple muckers. Ironically, watching a few minutes the player I noticed most was Tim Connolly. He was dominating play in the offensive zone. Must be the pre-concussion version Quote

Eleven Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 We weren't good that year, we missed the playoffs and that game was in the middle of a 10 game losing skid That was a rough year after the Sabs' best players departed. And then two years later, Lindy turned the same core into a division winner. Miracle. Freaking miracle. Quote
