Eleven Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 What a goal by Max Domi... http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LNN0dEcxwdo This is a total aside that is probably best saved for Thursday, but I've really about had it with youtube's constant placement of ads RIGHT AT THE POINT YOU WANT TO SEE. Nice goal. Quote
inkman Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) But Mitch Marner's and Travis Konecny's is. I am simply cautioning against some of the draft bias that pervades rankings. Domi out weighs those guys by 30-40 lbs. Edited January 27, 2015 by inkman Quote
LGR4GM Posted January 27, 2015 Author Report Posted January 27, 2015 Domi out weighs those guys by 30-40 lbs. He'll also turn 20 in March where as Marner won't be 18 til May and Konecny is 18 in March. They could gain 20-30lbs in 2 years. To make the NHL they will have too. Marner for instance went through a growth spurt where he went from 5'6" to 5'11" and that's great but he's gotta get his muscles to catch up. Quote

Yeah, there is nothing worse then watching one of the greats trying to hold on too long. Hoss Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Assistant GM? Seems like a quick jump. Quote

You want to know the funniest part about what you just posted? Garth has been the GM of the Islanders for just about 9 years now, yet he's only 3 years older than Brodeur. Quote
Hoss Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Lou said that Brodeur will only be with the Blues front office for the rest of this season and then will leave them to return to New Jersey in their front office... Quote

Garth has been the GM of the Islanders for just about 9 years now, yet he's only 3 years older than Brodeur. That's just nuts. Lou said that Brodeur will only be with the Blues front office for the rest of this season and then will leave them to return to New Jersey in their front office... So next year when Lamoriello inevitably fires his coach, we can now expect to see Marty behind the bench? Quote

So in other words, St. Louis found a round about way to keep paying him even though he's retiring. Quote

Hoss Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 That, to me, sounds like some MAJOR league tampering. I wonder if St. Louis is on board with that. Quote
SABRES 0311 Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Lou said that Brodeur will only be with the Blues front office for the rest of this season and then will leave them to return to New Jersey in their front office... Maybe he can convince some players to leave with him to NJ. A little infiltration. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Both teams had to have talked about and agreed on it. I just don't get it from the Blues perspective. What could they possibly gain from it? The only way this makes any sense is if it's purely a title and Brodeur really sounds his time on the couch watching soaps. Quote

My guess is that Brodeur wasn't going to retire unless he could continue to collect paychecks. Hand him a paper title in the front office and problem solved. So yes, he's not doing a damn thing with this job. Edited January 27, 2015 by shrader Quote

BagBoy Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 IMO Brodeur was the best goalie of this era (1980 onward), with Roy 2nd and Dom 3rd. All he did was win. He was fantastic from day 1 for almost half his life. Quote
