Sheeyyitt.

The Leafs have done something progressive, low-risk, forward-thinking, and sensible with their FO. Success isn't sure to follow, but I like their chances a whole lot better now than I did when the old cronies were running them into the ground year after year.

This is very bad news for Sabres fans. I wonder what the ETA is on Nonis' dismissal. He's crapped on anything and everything progressive and done so publicly. If Shanahan is going the progressive route, I can't imagine Nonis lasts more than a few years while Dubas learns the NHL front office.

Then again: How great will it be if, in 5 years' time, the Sabres and Leafs are both contenders? That 1999 ECF was a thing of beauty, I tell you.

But the Leafs being perennial pretenders is so much funnier! You're right though, that would be a pretty awesome rivalry.

Wasn't loiselle pitched as one of the contenders for Murray's job?

I originally liked him until I realized that he was their "cap guy" and the one that pushed for Clarkson. Brutal.

You also called the Leafs an "emerging contender" in the process :nana:

Was that the exact quote? They did look to have potential at one point.

Does that first syllable sound like hat or ought?

can we get an autocorrect on this?

I believe it is Leafs due to it being a proper noun; lets just be happy they didn't pick the moose because I don't even want to have the moose, meese, mooses discussion

Proper nouns do not suspend the rules of grammar. There were two Germanys. We try to keep up with the Joneses. And they are ###### Leaves.
