LGR4GM Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Rumor: Vanek down to Minnesota and... Nashville (?). What? Country music is huge in Austria... right? Quote
dEnnis the Menace Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 True but no vanek or moulson as of now. Also, even with jt back they were bad last year with him. Could they end up in the teens? Sure because there is a lot of parity in this league and three point games make a huge difference but nothing they've done yet screams a drastic increase in standings. As of now I'm going to say 6th to 12th with just as good a shot at 6 than 12 IMO. My line of thought exactly. Quote
Hoss Posted July 1, 2014 Author Report Posted July 1, 2014 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie CGY signs Jonas Hiller to two-year deal with AAV of $4.5M. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 What? Country music is huge in Austria... right? The only thing I can think is Poille would potentially reunite Vanek and Roy and put Neal on the wing. I still think Vanek picks Minnesota though. Quote
dEnnis the Menace Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie CGY signs Jonas Hiller to two-year deal with AAV of $4.5M. well scratch my last statement... Good luck to Hiller there. Quote
Brawndo Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Kevin Oklobzija @kevinoDandC 1m Per @BBarts, the Thomas Vanek Sweepstakes are down to two teams. The original suitor, the Wild, still very much in play. Quote

Taro T Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Worst deal of the day... James Mirtle @mirtle Capitals gave Orpik a five-year, $27.5 million deal. Wow. The Jagr deal must FINALLY be off the books and Ted's feeling cheeky. For anybody hating on Pegula, want to trade owners w/ them. (I hear Ted twitters, so there's that. ;)) Quote

nfreeman Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Bet Miller wishes he had accepted Buffalo's offer. Declining it will cost him millions. Good luck getting anywhere near 6 per after these 3 years are done. Buffalo would have given him 7x7, maybe 8x6.8. He gave a lot of money away. You have to figure TP would've given him at least $40MM. That's $22MM that he just left on the table, plus the Canadian tax hit -- and by year 2 of the deal, Vancouver likely won't be any better than the Sabres and might be worse. You reap what you sow. Still a great group left... Thomas Vanek, LW (MON) Jarome Iginla, RW (BOS) Matt Moulson, LW (MIN) Matt Niskanen, D (PIT) Jonas Hiller, G (ANA) Brian Boyle, C (NYR) Brad Richards, C (NYR) Steve Ott, C (STL) Lee Stempniak, RW (PIT) Radim Vrbata, RW (ARI) Anton Stralman, D (NYR) Martin Brodeur, G (NJ) Mikhail Grabovski, C (WAS) Olli Jokinen, C (WPG) David Legwand, C (DET) Dustin Penner, LW (WAS) I'll take Moulson, Legwand, Ott and/or Vrbata, please.
