drnkirishone Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Proud! The Sabres season aside, as an NHL fan this season produced some great hockey and the switch in playoff seeding was a home run. The playoffs were exactly what you want. Exciting games, solid match-ups and some great individual performances. Hats off to those that predicted Justin Williams would win the Conn Smythe and Alec Martinez would score the Conference and Cup winners in OT. i disliked the new format because of the matchups it forced. Guest Sloth Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 i disliked the new format because of the matchups it forced. I second that. It bothers me we will not see a Buffalo/Philly playoff unless they both make the Eastern Conference Finals. Quote
bunomatic Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 It's okay he spelled it wrong Damn. Trying to spell that one made my head hurt. Quote
Stoner Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 I would go with Alien or Foreign. Something that happened somewhere else that had nothing to do with the Sabres. Quote
Eleven Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Poutine This man has an idea and a mission. Quote
nfreeman Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 If the idea is to describe the Sabres' season: bottom. If it's to describe the NHL season: slowing. Quote
Cereal Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Meh. Although, watching the overtimes last night...... I was squeemish because I didn't want it to end..... Quote

Weave Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Uninteresting. Couldn't make any attempt to get interested in the Sabres and it definitely spilled over into the playoffs for me. I had no interest whatsoever. This ###### keeps up much longer and I'll walk away like I did for the Bills. Quote

Guest Sloth Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Wouldn't that make it mean more? Nope. A Sabres/Flyers series always seemed to have a higher amount of energy and excitement. The odds of them colliding in the Eastern Conference Finals are very slim. As time passes the rivalry will diminish. Long time fans will still be able to relate to it. Newbies won't. Quote

I had no interest whatsoever. This ###### keeps up much longer and I'll walk away like I did for the Bills. This fits as well. In the beginning it was torture watching them be so incredibly bad, and as the season wore on it was torture because they were so uninteresting to watch that I no longer wanted to. Game 5 of the finals was literally the only playoff game I watched this postseason. Quote
nfreeman Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 That's my main problem with any type of tanking strategy. It's a big factor for me too. They're going to be awful again next year and almost certainly below 200 goals again as well. I can't get excited to carve out 2 hours in the evening to watch that kind of futility. Quote
Hoss Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 It'll only be one more year unless they somehow don't get a top two pick. If they don't then it'll be at least 2-3 more years. Quote
