sabre31_98 Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Do you remember the posts going on this board during free agency? Everybody had written the sabres off as a horrible team, 13th in the East, we didn't do anything to improve by bringing in a huge, expensive free agent, etc.. Look at the team now. Yes there is a slump, but the Sabres will most likely exceed 100 points this season! We will definitely make the playoffs after a long absence. That in itself is a victory. We are all ready to lynch Ryan Miller like he is Dominick Hasek at the peak of his career. For all intents and purposes he is a rookie this year! We have plenty of cap room and are only 1 defenseman away (not including McKee, he needs to be resigned) from a true Stanley Cup team. I know our expectations are high right now, but remember what we all said in September. We, right now, are way ahead of the curve. Give Darcy a chance, he has been right so far. Even if it doesn't happen this year we have years of competitive hockey ahead of us. Who would have believed that 3 years ago....
LabattBlue Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 I think it's natural that the fans are a little dismayed The Sabres peaked to a point where the casual fan and even people who don't watch hockey normally started taking notice. At that point we played Ottawa for the division lead, lost, and since then, the Sabres have fallen off the face of the earth. Here's hoping for a bit of a turnaround prior to the playoffs. GO SABRES!
