shrader Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Nobody below them but there are multiple teams above them that might. Vermette likely garners a first. Some of the Leafs young guys might if they go that route. Sekera might. Right, but when the teams above them trade their pick, it isn't one which will have a small percentage shot at McDavid, which I thought was the purpose of the current discussion. Maybe I'm over-reading on that one though.
Hoss Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Draft stuff: Mitch Marner has his 38th goal and 99th point of the year in game #50 to give London a 1-0 lead on Saginaw. Special talent Draft stuff: That McDavid kid has 1+1 early on as Erie leads Mississauga 3-0 in 1st. 30 goals/34 games, pts in 19 straight (and 33/34 gms)

LGR4GM Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 That's a good list and good work.
Derrico Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Ya I've got no qualms with the top 10.
dudacek Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Looks like the odds are good we can replace Lemieux and Armia with our second and third picks.
LGR4GM Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 Looks like the odds are good we can replace Lemieux and Armia with our second and third picks. I'd take Brock Boeser and Jordan Greenway.
Hoss Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I'd take Brock Boeser and Jordan Greenway. We still know. :p
LGR4GM Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) We still know. :P 1 rw, 1 lw it's poetry. In all honesty I prefer Philip Ahl over Greenway at LW. I just haven't seen much of him at all so it's all written reports. Edited February 16, 2015 by LGR4GM

LGR4GM Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 I'm still hoping Paul Bittner falls to our second pick. Him or Jansen Harkins. I like Bittner but I like Boeser more. I honestly like Harkins but I wonder if Ahl has more offensive upside.
inkman Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I'd take Brock Boeser and Jordan Greenway. GMTM like his heavy playerz
shrader Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Eichel and Greenway would be an interesting combination... Not that they'll actually play together at BU
Crusader1969 Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Still love Meier, DeBrusk, Svechnikov but now Im looking at Bracco as a late 1st. Small but has termendous skill. Could fit nicely in a couple of years with Eichel or Reinhart as his center.

I realize there's a difference between a ranking and a mock, but this is all I could find that was more than 30 deep. This is http://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2014/ If you take the highest available player on their board, the Sabres would have taken: 2 Bennett 31 Barbashev 44 Roland McKeown 49 Jack Dougherty 61 Justin Kirkland 74 Aaron Irving 121 Dyson Mayo 151 Nikita Serebryakov 181 Spencer Watson a very similar list from http://thehockeywriters.com/2014-nhl-mock-draft-three-round-final-edition/ 2 Draisaitl 31 Barbashev 44 McKeown 49 Dougherty 61 Sebastian Aho 74 Anton Karlsson 121 Dyson Mayo 151 Spencer Watson 181 Emil Johansson If anyone has a copy of mckeens or any of the others, I would appreciate it. The css is divided into NA and EU, which makes it rather useless. Edited February 17, 2015 by rakish
LGR4GM Posted February 18, 2015 Author Report Posted February 18, 2015 Those are actually close to what happened (+/- 5 spots) which is interesting.

Hoss Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 Crusader, I've been running a nightly magic number list in the Carrion thread. It doesn't have net change but it's ordered from lowest to highest magic number.
Crusader1969 Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 Crusader, I've been running a nightly magic number list in the Carrion thread. It doesn't have net change but it's ordered from lowest to highest magic number. Thanks, saw it after I posted. I figure if Sabres keep the same pace - 3 points per 5 games played and unless Edmonton completely collapses we should clinch with about 5 games to go in the season. Looking for a combination of 22 Sabres losses and Edmonton wins over last 25 games. Next 5 Buffalo - Philly, NYR, Nash, Columbus, Vancouver Next 5 Edmonton - Boston, Minny, Anheim, Minny, St.Louis
WildCard Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 McDavid to be live on Hockey Central within the hour
WildCard Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 The interview was pretty bland; just a standard sports interview. Only thing of note, when asked about his being a fan of Toronto and if it would be hard to switch allegiances it was a pretty resounding no. Not major, but still good to hear. He will watch the draft lottery too, which has got to be a really weird event for him.
