A bartender friend if mine who is a huge bruins honk overheard me espousing the talents of McDavid, where I was comparing him to Crosby. He immediately tried to douse my flames with a "he ain't freaking Crosby". Now I can retort "you are right, McDavid is better."

Connor McDavid: 15g, 34a, 17games, 2.88ptpg

Jack Eichel: 5g, 8a, 7games, 1.86ptpg

These guys are good, scary good.

Now one point out of the top spot in the entire nation, with 3 less games played. I really picked the wrong year to leave (well, except for the massive raise and the cheaper cost of living). This type of scoring was usually found at the other end of Comm Ave.

Heard an interesting comparison for Jack Eichel over the weekend -- Phil Kessel. Certainly not in the conditioning department, but the good shot and overall ability makes sense.

Posted

Don't really see that. While both are snipers, Eichel brings more vision and grit. Both can score.

I agree with this. As scorers it may be a good comparison. They're both very able scorers and have great shots to do so. Otherwise, I'm not completely sure.

The shot and being the big name American prospect are really all that warrants the comparison. Like you both said, Eichel is definitely more physical, and from all the interviews/reviews I've seen of him, he has a much higher compete than Kessel ever will.

If Eichel turns out to be Kessel I'll be severely disappointed.
