My "McEichel tiers"

In the conversation:

-Buffalo Sabres

-Calgary Flames

-Carolina Hurricanes

-Edmonton Oilers

-Nashville Predators

-New Jersey Devils

-Ottawa Senators

-Winnipeg Jets

One step away (could go either way):

-Arizona Coyotes

-Florida Panthers

-New York Islanders

-Toronto Maple Leafs

-Vancouver Canucks

Probably not in it:

-Columbus Blue Jackets

-Philadelphia Flyers

-San Jose Sharks

-Washington Capitals

Definitely not in it:

-Anaheim Ducks

-Boston Bruins

Chicago Blackhawks

-Colorado Avalanche

-Dallas Stars

-Detroit Red Wings

-Los Angeles Kings

-Minnesota Wild

-Montreal Canadiens

-New York Rangers

-Pittsburgh Penguins

-St. Louis Blues

-Tampa Bay Lightning

I plan on developing some type of actual tracking system where I update this list with stats every ten games.

Hopefully we'll get a race-to-McEichel chart.

That's already there in Carp's stuff. Didn't he specifically make a tanking one this year (even though it's already in there at the bottom of his all teams chart)?

Good list.

While I do think Florida will be better, they are still in the conversation. I would drop them and the Islanders down a tier. I'd also move Winnipeg up a notch.

I've recently started to see Carolina really emerging as a front runner.

In which Bob McKenzie gives an absolutely terrible interview with Conor McDavid:

Seriously, stick to tweeting Bob. Each question seemed to be Bob trying to show Conor how much he knows about him. "Hey, I know this thing about you, tell the peasants watching this on their crappy dial-up internet something about it."

Here is a name to get to know - Evgeny Svechnikov (Cape Breton QJMHL). Craig Button has him ranked 18th right now and he is tearing it up with 14 points in his first 7games in the Q. Could see him crack a few top ten lists if he keeps it up.

I've watched a couple of his games and he looks really slick plus has great size at 6'3 205lbs.

Here is just one of his "highlite" reel plays so far this season.

With the Isles landing both Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk I think they'll be a playoff team. Looks like the tank is on us now.

Well the Islanders I believe are a playoff team for sure now. I have to agree with Tankalicious the tank is on us now. I'm guessing we will have 1 pick from 3-10, 1 pick 15-20, and 1 pick 21-30. Islanders defense just got a whole lot better.

They might have a good AHL defense now

The wild card is Halak, I wonder if his GAA with The Blues can be contributed to Hitchcock's D. I am interested to see how he plays with the Isles upgraded D
