LGR4GM
I'll be pissed but it wouldn't shock me. I would be happy with Eichel. Here's a crazy question. If we end up with the 3rd - 7th pick this year would you try and yes I know most teams wouldn't even think twice about a trade but would you trade all 3 1st rounders, both 2nd's, next year's 1st and 2nd to whoever gets the 1st overall pick? I know players like him only come around once in awhile but a trade like that could be like a Quebec trade with Philly did for Lindros. It helped out both teams. Of course we know how it all played out but both teams went to the cup. 3: 2015 1st 2: 2015 2nd 1: 2016 1st 1: 2016 2nd Would I consider it as Tim Murray yes. Would I do it no. I also do not think another GM would agree to that deal. If you are trading for the 1st overall pick in this draft, which is not happening but this is hypothetical, I would say you would need to go 2015 3 1st rounders, 2 2nd rounders, Rasmus Ristolainen, Linus Ullmark, Zemgus Girgenson, and Tyler Ennis. That would probably in the crazy range you would need to get the other GM to stay on the line for more than 1 second. I would like to remind everyone that the Pens have Malkin and Crosby the top 2 centers in the game and they have only won a single cup because of terrible drafting and trading away to many picks. Something to keep in mind.
Hoss
While nobody is going to deal the first overall pick this year I absolutely would throw the world at whoever has number one if we have the third pick or later. If we have the second pick then I would offer that pick and one of our top d prospects. If they say no then I take Eichel and get over it.

Something to keep in mind. Just bad drafting. They've only not had a first rounder twice since drafting Sid. Risto and Eichel for McDavid? That's a toughie. Likely talking elite versus generational. Easy deal. (In my opinion). Edited September 16, 2014 by Tankalicious
TrueBlueGED
Just bad drafting. They've only not had a first rounder twice since drafting Sid. Likely talking elite versus generational. Easy deal. (In my opinion). But what you're really talking is two elite players for one generational. I'd obviously rather have Crosby than Toews. But, for me at least, the decision isn't nearly as clear if the tradeoff is Crosby for Toews and Keith.

Something to keep in mind. I did mention that very thing. They have been bad at drafting and have been bad with their first rounders. Also the Pens have drafted in the 1st round 7 times since Crosby... Staal, Esposito, Despres, Bennett, Morrow, Pouliot, Maatta. Out of those so far only 2 have made any impact although a couple of guys could in the future.

Huckleberry
10. Daniel Sprong, RW – Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL): Born in Amsterdam, Sprong came to Canada for the competition and he’s still lighting it up. The super-smart winger has a cracking shot and a solid frame. I think we'll need this one , we are going to be very short on RW.
