Crusader1969
@Crusader I have seen almost none of Alexander Dergachyov but from what I have read, we should take him with our 2nd rounder. 6'4" Physical and Smart, sign me up. I just am curious about his skating. I hope this is one of those picks where Devine and our Russia scout can convince Murray to take a swing, guys with his skills that get drafted later than the top 30 are the ones teams should be looking for. If you have access to TSN they may still have some some of Russia's WJC games OnDemand. I think I PVR'd a couple so if I can find some time I may go back and watch him a bit closer. I notice they have him listed as a centre on most draft boards but Im pretty sure he played LW with Russia and he is listed as LW on SKA1946 in the MHL. ubkev
Here's an Eichel highlight video, I realized upon watching it that I have only ever seen him play in parts of 2 world juniors games, and then one random highlight from college. I stopped watching when the song turned out to be Volbeat. I hate his voice. Every thing about it hits my ear wrong. Eichel is good at hockey. His voice sounds like Chara trying to sing with his mouthpiece in.

Eichel is good at hockey. I couldn't finish the video either. The song seemed pretty well put together, too. Way (way) more grit and teeth on the instruments and a real singer and I would probably listen to it before hockey.

dudacek
What's the deal with Colin White and Jordan Greenway, two names I remember being highly touted last year? Have they really played less than 10 games this year? My goal this draft remains adding high-level skill. Jeremy Roy, Boeser, Debrusk, Bracco, Harkins, Spong — that's much better talent than what you normally get in the tail end of the first. Three picks from 25 to 32 not looking quite so disappointing as it was when the Islanders first took off.
Marvelo
I like Mitchell Marner. 5-11 160, built like Gretzky. 95 points in 44 games. But you can't have Marner or McEichel out in space by himself. You need equally skilled and players like Dvorak to partner with Marner…Sabres of course have nothing to surround anybody with. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCS53q1eGZ4

shrader
What's the deal with Colin White and Jordan Greenway, two names I remember being highly touted last year? Have they really played less than 10 games this year? That's what happens when you play for the US developmental team. They have a limited league schedule and then mix in a lot of tournaments and exhibition games which aren't included in the stats. Christian Fischer is the only one from that team on the list with a large number of games played listed, but I have no idea where that is coming from. Other sites I'm looking at have much smaller numbers for him.

Three picks from 25 to 32 not looking quite so disappointing as it was when the Islanders first took off. Greenway has played close to what I would expect but as Shrader said it is one of the issues with the USHL Development Program, he's playing games that don't get added to his total. That being said, I found a nice write up on Greenway and I would take him in the 20's because 6'5" 222lbs is Zadorov territory. I wouldn't go into the corner with that guy. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=737898 "He doesn't have any idea how big, strong and athletic he is," USNTDP U-18 coach Don Granato said. "It'll be a process for him but that's what you drool over. He's got athletic ability, size and strength, and his potential is really high." "he led the Sabres with 62 points (23 goals, 39 assists) in 46 games" One last thing, Eichel and Greenway have played together and Greenway is going to Boston University (2015/2016) just like Jack. French Collection
I watched Baptiste with Sudbury a few times and he is fast. Not bad size either. His ceiling is probably 2nd or 3rd line but if we get McDavid, there would be some history/chemistry. He does have the speed to keep up and complement Connor as well. Look at Crosby's line mates over the years, some are not top six guys but they fit into a role and meshed well. The PP is where you can put the high end talent together for 1-2 minutes. Crusader1969
60 points till Sabres clinch Eichel. with 32 games remaining could they take care of 45 themselves? that would mean they go 10-21-1. Could they do 50 (7-25)? If miracle of the Sabres playing .500 hockey (16-16) happens the Oilers would then have to go 14-19 to finish ahead of the Sabres Even if Oilers keep up their season pace of .350 hockey and win just 12 out of their last 33. Sabres would then have to go better than 14-16 to finish ahead of them, If you are worried about the Coyotes - if the Sabres finish strong with a record of 10-22 the Yotes would could have to be worse than 6-28 to pass them. Bottom line - we are getting seriously close to being able to buy a Sabres #9 jersey and no not a Derek Roy (Though I would consider buying an Oilers #8 as well for helping turn that team around) but there is still work to do. Keep the foot on the pedal and lets get the losing streak to 18 or 20.
