Johnny DangerFace Posted May 6, 2015 Author Report Posted May 6, 2015 He's also had a down year, right? Good move to stay in school. He did end the regular season on fire though which was great to see Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Any word on Fasching? I don't see any of other college draftees leaving school yet... Hudson I believe is going back. No one has said anything to the contrary so I would say his return is imminent. Quote
Hoss Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Hudson just tweeted that he's excited to get the season going again at Minnesota. Seems like confirmation that he's returning. No surprise. Quote

Ogre Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 This man says, "say it to my face". Bruce is taking the stage this fall in Broadway's take on Stephen King's Misery. He plays Paul Sheldon. This is something I may have to see. Quote
Two or less Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 It's kind of gross that the Oilers Official Twitter Account is tweeting his stats for the game That's gross? But having an Erie Otters game in our arena was fair game? Quote
Brawndo Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 That's gross? But having an Erie Otters game in our arena was fair game? Yes what is gross is the fact that the most inept franchise in the NHL was in position to win the lottery despite drafting 1,1,1,7 and 3 over the past five seasons. And as a result of winning McDavid, Chiarelli agreed to become the GM and they are the favorites to land Mike Babcock should he choose to leave Detroit. The goal of this season for the Sabres was land one of the two top prospects in this draft, but do so fans had to endure the past two seasons. In order to keep the fan base "interested" both Top Prospects played a game at FNC. Good Marketing by the Sabres? Yes. Was it little uncouth hosting the Otters Game? Probably Quote

I personally had no issues with McDavid playing here, but i also dont have issues with Oilers twitter giving McDavid updates. Everyone knows who they're drafting, so i don't see a problem with it. I just think its funny that people can hate on the Oilers talking about McDavid on a social media account, while our own team brought the player in for a game and interviews with media and local stations. Marvelo Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 I just went to the Gold's Gym in Milford, MA and was stretching and saw this guy working out with battle ropes. He was really going at it hard and fast; exceptionally strong, and I thought: Wow. So I took a closer look and he had a Rochester Amerks t-shirt on. I asked his name and it was Maury Edwards, who had a cup of coffee with the Amerks 4 years ago. He's a 28 year old D-man (5-11/176) in the ECHL and now the German leagues. He said he played with Chad Ruhwedel, the Sabres have a "personnel problem" and he picks the Blackhawks to go all the way. Looking into it, this guy was a 2nd Team All American while at UMass Lowell, has all sorts of accolades in his career and is now at 28 a star in the German leagues. UVM Coach Kevin Snedden said about Edwards: "…Edwards' shot is harder than any human alive." He's a power play specialist with a big shot. I would ('ve) liked to see the Sabres give a guy like this a shot, as opposed to the usual suspects we've had lately like Strachan, Benoit, Meszaros. hope he succeeds somewhere and I just said brushed shoulders with greatness. Interesting stuff. By "personnel problem" did he mean a lack of talent, or a problem with personalities? Quote

inkman Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 I suspect it's a polite Canadianism for lack of talent. Did you ask him about the Sabres or did he just offer an opinion? Quote
Marvelo Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Did you ask him about the Sabres or did he just offer an opinion? It was pretty rushed; unfortunately I'm not a master of small talk. I asked him about the Sabres though and he offered that personnel comment up. Asked him about Chad, who he specifically mentioned. He said he's an excellent skater but he can't check the big boys. I offered up a comparison w Tory Krug and he said he's a different kind of player. Then I mentioned there's a whole culture of hockey players like Chad coming out of California and he said, it's from roller hockey. Didn't get much more out of him than that; he looks solid, "Canadian strong." Very polite, soft spoken but intense. I did interrupt his workout so I kind of stepped back a bit after that. Quote
