LGR4GM Posted November 6, 2014 Report Posted November 6, 2014 I wasn't thrilled with Connor Hurley in 2013 when Santini and Bowey were around. (Or Bailey, but we ended up getting him anyway.) Hopefully it turns out I was wrong about that. I wanted Dougherty instead of Karabecek but he hasn't been too special so far this year. Hopefully passing on Barbashev at 31 doesn't burn us either. I still like Barbashev over Lemiuex Quote

Hoss Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 @WHLKootenayICE: GOAL! Reinhart scores 32 seconds into the game! 1-0 ICE Also tonight: Justin Bailey with one goal and one assists. 10-10-20 in 14 games. Quote
Hoss Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 @SabresProspects: Reinhart scores again, this time 21 seconds into the second period while on a 5x3 advantage. KTN leads EDM 2-1. Quote
Crusader1969 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 2 Sabres prospects playing in the Subway Series this week Sam Reinhart will play with TEAM WHL Nick Bapiste for TEAM OHL I think Bapiste needs a big tourney in order to be considered for TEAM Canada due to his slow/injured start to the year. Derrico Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 For those in ontario the subway super series is on sportsnet right now. Reinhart is the captain for whl and from the bit I saw he looks pretty good. 3 min left in the second and game is tied at 1. Quote

Hoss Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Bailey ended up with a hatty tonight. Plus an assist. @BillHoppeNHL: Williamsville's Justin Bailey is destroying the OHL. Had a hat trick and an assist tonight, up to 13 goals + 26 points in 17 games. #Sabres Quote

If they get two or three of the 2nd or 3rd rounders to hit big, the rebuild will accelerate exponentially. Throw in the possibility of Grigs and Armia being useful assets and this may all be worth it with or without McDavid Quote
Crusader1969 Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Is there any way they dont put Bailey on the World Junior team? Good competition at the RW position from Tuch and Fashing who are big boys in their own right but you can't deny the size/speed and goal scoring ability of Bailey. Quote
dudacek Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Yeah, I'm real curious about USA's plans for Bailey. Production-wise he seems an obvious choice, but they will be working off a ghost roster that he's not on. Who is he going to knock off a top six role? And if he can't do that, can he play a bottom six role? I'm thinking of the thought process that kept Bobby Ryan off the Olympic team. Quote

The construction of that team still pisses me off. Larger ice, and they go with a handful of players who can't skate and can't score, all on the name of grit. Just awful. Quote
dudacek Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Marchand, Krecji, Lucic and Bergeron — sometimes you can make hay after the first. Quote

It's the Jimmy Johnson plan toward draft success. Accumulate as many picks as you can and you are bound to find a diamond in the rough especially if you use the picks to allow you to go for the home run rather then the safe pick. Quote
dudacek Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) Bailey certainly fits that second-round boom or bust profile. And to reference the above, it's not likely to happen, but the kid's top end is Bobby Ryan. Edited November 15, 2014 by dudacek Quote
LTS Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 The thing playing heavily in Bailey's favor is having been raised around a work ethic that leads to winning. There's no doubt he learned valuable lessons from accomplished professional athletes while he was growing up. I think that plays to his advantage for succeeding. Oh well, all we can do is wait and hope. Quote
dudacek Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) The latest from Kris Baker. Sam's not exactly pouting down there: http://www.sabrespro...mieux-tips.html WHL Sam Reinhart posted a goal off a partial breakaway and added two assists as Kootenay skated to a 4-2 triumph at Lethbridge. As expected, Reinhart has been a step ahead of the opposition en route to collecting 10 points (3+7) in his first four games. The ICE, who are a perfect 4-0 since their captain was returned from Buffalo, will look to keep the good times rolling on Wednesday when they battle Medicine Hat. I think the team was dead last when he went down. Edited November 17, 2014 by dudacek Quote

Do you hate him more because he's your competition to make it to the show? Is there brotherhood because you might be teammates someday? Most likely just another guy to play against. Quote
