DR HOLLIDAY Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Watching Ramos and Iker roll around the ground like fools was fantastic…... :w00t:
X. Benedict Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 The diving in this sport makes it nearly unwatchable.
Ottosmagic13 Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Das Dutch, schmoke and a pancake indeed...Where did that come from?
Huckleberry Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Australia surprised me a bit as a team, good effort against chilli, chilli let me down. If chilli can draw spain, spain is already out by wednesday though.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 Well, so much for my nil - nil prediction on the Spain Holland affair. The fear going in was that the Spanish mid-field and back end were likely to be exposed for what they have become since the last Euro ... old and slow. Columbia and Greece about to kick off. I like Greece in this one.
Hank Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 So....am I the only one thinking the US will make it out of the group stage?
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 So....am I the only one thinking the US will make it out of the group stage? While possible, since CR7 is not at full strength, not likely. 1 - 0 Columbia in the first 10 minutes.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 The Greeks have a real problem now. A beaut of a goal early in the second half.
Hoss Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Greece looked absolutely terrible. Kept missing on simple passes. Making tough passes when an easy one was available.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 Uruguay and Costa Rica. I think that was a good call on that penalty. Clearly tackled (NFL style) in the box and prevented a quality scoring chance. 1 - 0 Uruguay about half way to half time.
Trettioåtta Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Perfect result for England. Good work Costa Rica
Eleven Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) And ouch, I'm not sure I see a red card for that. Uruguay is in trouble for the tournament now. Edited June 14, 2014 by Eleven
wjag Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Uruguay is toast. Wow.. Costa Rica is 1000-1 Edited June 14, 2014 by wjag

Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 15, 2014 Author Report Posted June 15, 2014 The Bosnian Dragons are 150 - 1. Those aren't bad odds for a small country making their WC (and major tournament) debut. ===== So far all the matches, IMO, have been very entertaining. Lots of goals and no draws so far. The fields have been in great shape, The fans have been vocal. The refs have not been horrible, but a few questionable calls. A few surprises and many not surprises. Costa Rica looked very good. Bosnia plays their first match this evening. Can't wait. GO BiH!!

Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 15, 2014 Author Report Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) I have to say that the streaming quality (HD) on cbc.ca is fantastic. Swiss and Ecuador about to kick off. ===== Looks like a lot of empty seats for this one. First time I have noticed empty seats for any match. Edited June 15, 2014 by Sabres Fan In NS
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 15, 2014 Author Report Posted June 15, 2014 1 - 0 Ecuador on a perfectly executed free kick and header into the net. Looked so perfectly executed that the Swiss left 2 Ecuador players unmarked in the box on the free kick. Someone, or two, messed up there marking. Ecuador keeper looked sharp on a number of Swiss opportunities.

Lots of empties for Mexico-Camaroon....but it was pouring rain.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 15, 2014 Author Report Posted June 15, 2014 1 - 1 late in second half. The Swiss tied it early in the second half on a beaut of a corner kick headed in by a half time substitute. Looking at the Swiss names there are many Bosnian names on that squad. May have ended up there as refugees during the war.

Awesome tackle to save the game followed by a quick counter to win
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 15, 2014 Author Report Posted June 15, 2014 What a finish ... Ecuador had a good chance near the box that was beautifully denied by the Swiss defender on a great tackle and steal. Of course the Swiss went down field and scored a goal at 90' + 3' ... seconds before the final whistle. Beaut of a goal by Haris Seferovic ... good Swiss name, right there. That's a Bosnian name.
