Eleven Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Montreal hosts the Rangers in just a few hours. Also, here's the bracket, so no one has to go looking for it: http://bracketchallenge.nhl.com/playoff_challenge/leagues/19506?locale=en Quote
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 I had the final 4 in the preseason, but never made a cup prediction.... still don't know who wins. Both series can easily go 7. I'm rooting for the Rangers. They made it this far with their powerplay showing up for only 2 games. I'm guessing 4 OT games all ending 3-2. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Also, here's the bracket, so no one has to go looking for it: http://bracketchalle...19506?locale=en Damn, how'd I miss out on this. I blame the friggin' CRA. I have said it before and I'll say it again ... the cup winning confetti will be bleu, blanc et rouge. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 The cup will end up in the western conference this year..... Both Montreal and NY have impressed but I don't think they can keep up with either LA or Chicago, only saving grace is if Montreal wins and the kings go 7 games again, then that's gonna be an awfully tires LA team Quote
darksabre Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 I'm the only one with LA winning the Cup. Wacky. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Rangers over Montreal Chicago over LA Liger, I really don't mean to make fun of you, but your bracket is hooooorrible :P Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Liger, I really don't mean to make fun of you, but your bracket is hooooorrible :P Yea... it was pretty bad lol  Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 I've got NY and Chicago. 4/4 last round, time to keep the good times rollin'. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 I had the Ducks beating Montreal in the final. I also had the Blues beating Chicago  Quote
MILFHUNTER#518 Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 PK Subban is now my favorite NHL defenseman. He is like Tyler Myers in his prime, only better... Just an observation. .. Quote

Good point on the thread title. The linesmen blew the too many men call in favor of the Canadiens that led to the goal. Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Bye bye Montreal, bye bye... @reporterchris Peter Budaj is in goal for the #habs. So there's that. Quote
darksabre Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Scott Arniel's power play just burying Montreal. Quote
MILFHUNTER#518 Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 The only thing MTL can do now that is positive is to get pissed and hope it carries over to game 2... I would think a good fight or two would be called for here Quote
X. Benedict Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Never believe game one. This will be a long series IMO. Quote
LaLaLaFontaine Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 7:2 in Montreal, wow what a game. Quote
nfreeman Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 I'm wholly on board with "semifinals," which, in addition to being old school, is correct. "Conference finals" is a combination of empty, new-age hype and the "let's give everyone a trophy" philosophy. Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) I'm wholly on board with "semifinals," which, in addition to being old school, is correct. "Conference finals" is a combination of empty, new-age hype and the "let's give everyone a trophy" philosophy. Only problem with your thinking is that the NHL actually calls this round "Conference Finals" and awards Conference Championship Trophies to the winners in this round. The NHL is anything but new age. Edited May 18, 2014 by 26CornerBlitz Quote
