Campy Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Smelling salts? http://blogs.thescor...smelling-salts/ Yep. May have been mentioned in the ink's link (on the phone and didn't open it), but for those of us with deviated septums - which a lot of hockey players have - it really opens the sinuses up and makes breathing a lot easier which obviously improves stamina. Stoner Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 They're smelling salts. And everyone who plays sports has seen them used. I play paddle tennis. I've never seen them used. Quote

deluca67 Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 Konopka taking "performance enhancing drugs" is like a guy with a one inch johnson taking Viagra. It just doesn't make any sense. Quote

True story, I went to grade school with a kid whose dad was a pro ping pong player. Dude would practice outside in the winter. Quote
Eleven Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) Paddle tennis is not ping pong, FFS. Both of you. Edited May 16, 2014 by Eleven Quote

He was told it was baked withs lots of Love, just didnt realize it was Mary Jane's Loving Hands that touched it. Cannabis is not a banned substance by the NHL. I'd like to see what happens when some impressionable kids try to start a smelling salt habit... Quote

qwksndmonster Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 True story, I went to grade school with a kid whose dad was a pro ping pong player. Dude would practice outside in the winter. That's awesome. My siblings and I used to have the most intense ping pong matches. When I hit around age 13 I finally got as good as them, starting a 4 year period where all of us were around the same skill level. My sister and oldest brother are two of the most (angrily) competitive people I know. Paddles were thrown and smashed, tears were shed. Now, as the youngest, I can crush them at ping pong and tennis. I'll admit to having never actually played paddle tennis, but I know what it (hilariously) is. Quote

Wow, I did not know that....then I blame it on the "Fondant" Icing...how else can you use Performance Enhancing drugs and skate slower than the competition.. Quote

IKnowPhysics Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 20 games for Sudafed? Methinks no. Probably not, but I don't know what the "zero tolerance" policy is, if that exists. Quote
spndnchz Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 Probably not, but I don't know what the "zero tolerance" policy is, if that exists. It's just stupid to get busted for this stuff. THEY GET A LIST! of stuff not to take. Quote
dudacek Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 Konopka seems like a good guy, but also the type of desperate to be here plugger willing to take a stupid risk. Quote
Weave Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 Tough to see a guys career end this way. He couldn't make the game day roster consistently on the last place team in the league. What are the chances another team picks him up knowing at best he'll be available for 62 games? Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 It's just stupid to get busted for this stuff. THEY GET A LIST! of stuff not to take. Oh, I agree. It think it's possible to ingest a supplement without knowing what all the ingredients are, but as you said, it's stupid as hell. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 I don't see why the Sabres couldn't have him back next year. I don't think they'll be hurting for roster space. Quote

I'm not sure I even understand why DHEA is a banned substance. As far as I can tell, no one has ever been able to conclude that it actually does anything. Quote
