Campy Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 Thanks 26CB. I know others have said it, so I'll just agree with them - I like his no-nonsense demeanor. While his path to righting the ship likely won't be one we'll all agree with, I am confident the ship will eventually be righted with him at the helm. Quote
Brawndo Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 Another thing that may inflate Ekblad's value to some team: there are no other Dmen. After Ekblad it's basically a Grand Canyon-esque drop to the next defender. So if for whatever reason a team really wants a defensive prospect, it really is Ekblad or bust. EDM biggest need is probably a DMan. If Florida pulls the trigger on Ekblad, what about the Sabres offering a package which includes one of their top four D-Man(10, 57, 55, 61)for a package that includes the third overall pick? That way they could draft both Sams if they choose. And if the Isles give the Sabres the fifth overall pick this year... Quote

There was a report that Murray would consider moving Myers for another top five pick, but I wouldn't trade Myers, Risto or Zadorov for even the first pick this year. We have number two and I'm satisfied with that. I'd give Ehrhoff for three, but I don't think Edmonton would make that move. Quote

I would think McNabb would've been the perfect trade compliment with Ehroff in this situation. Damn you GMTM for being proactive! Edited April 17, 2014 by WildCard Quote

That Aud Smell Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 i had a dream last night that this process repeated itself in 2015, and we missed out on mcdavid, but that the eichel (sic?) kid wound up coming to us, and he went on to have a marvelous sabres career (wherein he won 2 cups) devoted to proving to the world that he should've gone #1 in '15. it was legitimately the best dream i've had in years. cdexchange Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 4/16/14 - Tim Murray on TSN1200: http://proxy.autopod.ca/podcasts/chum/186/21491/apr16driveTimMurray.mp3 <14:11> Murray touches on a number of subjects in the interview including the draft lottery, free agency, the decision to hire Nolan as HC, his immediate focus moving forward, and the Sabres' analytics staff. God, I just love everything this guy says. Quote
