bob_sauve28 Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Does it seem like younger players are really carrying the play even more this playoffs? The power of youth in the NHL grows? Hopefully one step closer tonight to the dream match-up of Montreal and Boston I was just thinking how great a series between those two teams would be! Quote
Eleven Posted April 23, 2014 Author Report Posted April 23, 2014 Only Kronwall on Detroit could have gotten away with that trip on that Marchand breakaway. And only a Bruin could have gotten away if it were reversed. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 The Bruins have a lot of players I've never hear of. Quote
... Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 If this is all Detroit has to give this series is already over. Quote
z-man Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Of course Marchand was faking the torn ligament. What a little ######. Quote
Hoss Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 What a pathetic moment there. Miller went to fake an injury but then got the whistle he needed and got right up. Quote
WildCard Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Of course Marchand was faking the torn ligament. What a little ######. I just tuned into the game, did he manage to get a PP out of it? BTW, welcome to the board. Quote
Eleven Posted April 23, 2014 Author Report Posted April 23, 2014 Habs are through to the second round. Quote
CallawaySabres Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 I just threw up a little in my mouth. Two of the teams I dislike the most. I probably hate those two teams more than you do but as a hockey fan, how could anyone on this planet not want to watch that series Quote
bunomatic Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Yeah, um,… k. So,… um, would the league have suspended him for the same hit if there was no headshot and play continued? I really doubt it. The league can say whatever they want. I know. It doesn't make much sense that they didn't mention the hit to the head in their explanation. Thats why I threw it out there. To see what people thought of that. I wasn't arguing either way. Maybe they're getting concerned with these class action lawsuits that are cropping up. Who knows ? Seems strange to me. From their track record of dealing with these hits I doubt its from concern for the injured player. Quote

bunomatic Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 That anthem singer in the L.A/San Jose game is special  Quote

I don't know how much he even has a say in these matters, but I truly believe that Bettman sees players as just grist for the mill. Quote

I'm not sure how Kopitar does it with that wonky eye. Edited April 23, 2014 by bunomatic Quote
Iron Crotch Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Two big, physical teams just hammering each other out in LA. Games like this are why I've always thought some guys are made for the regular season and some for the post-season. Quote

I'm not sure how some of our shrinking violets would survive this war of attrition that is the western conference playoffs. Especially these two teams. Quote
nfreeman Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 I've been nurturing a pretty healthy man crush on Cracknell since this series started. What a great hockey name. Quote

bunomatic Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 L.A. is on the ropes. If San Jose wants a deep run they'd better close out this series in 4 because games like these will take their toll as far as injuries go. Quote
darksabre Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 I'm really surprised by San Jose right now. I didn't expect this kind of dominance from them. Quote
dEnnis the Menace Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Detroit needs to bring more to this series. They are letting me down here. Sad I can't stay awake for any of these SJ-LA games. Quote
