darksabre Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Detroit not skating as hard as they did last game. They were shifty and Boston was struggling with it. I'm worried about Jimmy Howard. Too many Bruins players getting to the crease. Quote
darksabre Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Good on Smith going after Chara. Refs must have been scolded after last game. "Put your whistles away boys, you're killing the cave men." Quote
sabre snipe Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Count me in the group that thinks the suspension of three games was enough... Also put me in a group that hopes the bruins get their monster beaks ripped off. I'm looking at you, lucic, Marchand, chara. Edited April 20, 2014 by sabre snipe Quote
wjag Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 That whole Chara-Smith tift at the end of the period was comical. Chara treated him like a fly.. I don't care much for Chara, but at least he knew enough not to fight Smith. He would have hurt him and had the common sense not to fight out of his weight class. No telling what Smith was thinking there. Quote

wjag Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Chara is a paper tiger. Maybe to a guy like Thornton, but he would have killed Smith. That montage NBC just showed, shows Smith is getting pounded in this series. Quote
sabre snipe Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 I'm surprised marchands nose can even fit inside his visor. Maybe he has a custom one Quote

wjag Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 This game isn't helping. No hustle from Detroit right now. Agreed. But all Detroit needs is one this period. They are a sneaky team. Boston is not putting them away. Lucic has been really quiet this game so far.. Oh so close Detroit Quote

Lucic has been really quiet this game so far.. Oh so close Detroit This next power play is crucial. If they play it as anemic as I know they can, they'll pretty much seal their fate. They need to really move the puck and their feet. It's the only way. I'm not feeling good about it. Quote
darksabre Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Good lucky bounce for Glendenning. Really the first player on Detroit to get in on top of Rask today. If Detroit can find ways to get inside they'll be okay. But they're going to have to work a lot harder than they are. Quote
darksabre Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 I'm liking the energy guys for Detroit right now. They're leaning on the Bruins defenders and trying to get inside no matter what. That is good. You can't be trying to stay away from them. Go straight at em. Make them take penalties. Quote
sabre snipe Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Awesome. Guy who should b suspended for a game scores. Quote
darksabre Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Woof. Detroit simply doesn't understand their game plan. Quote
wjag Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 That was a nice goal by Lucic. Hate saying that. Quote
sabre snipe Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Loo choch just punched abdelkador in the back of the head away from the play. I'd slash his knee and take him out like Bombay got taken out in mighty ducks. Or like vanek got taken out in our playoff series a few years ago on the breakaway against them. Quote
LGR4GM Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Watching Boston cheat and be dirty makes me truly believe we still need a meaner/grittier Sabres team to compete with them. I'd love to be the team that takes Boston's game and shoves it back down their throats. Quote
darksabre Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 That was a nice goal by Lucic. Hate saying that. Howard has looked pedestrian today as well. Not looking good for the third period. Detroit isn't showing enough jump to take this game over. No one on the Bruins is even worried about getting caught flat footed right now. Also, credit to Boston where it's due, they are hands down the best stick checking team in the league. Relentless. And they don't take penalties while doing it. Quote
darksabre Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 I don't understand how Boychuk is allowed to dump Abdelkader there when he doesn't have the puck. I understand that they're allowed to "battle" for it, but that wasn't a battle, that was a hit. It's interference. But this is the playoffs. Quote
