Taro T Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 Foligno was a second overall pick in the draft two years before, and was playing well. He was hardly a throw-in. And given how Scotty treated McCourt, for him, Foligno may actually have been the key piece. The Sabres gave up an awful lot for the bunch. And after Peterson lost 1 faceoff it was a loooong time before the Sabres ever won another important one. They thought McCourt was going to be awesome not having to be the man. They also thought Cloutier was going to be a stud and that Dudacek would defect. Scotty was a killer coach, but his personnel decisions in Buffalo were suspect at best. Quote
