pi2000 Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 This guy has very good hands and skating ability. He's killing it in the OHL. With all the defensive prospects the Sabres have, I would consider moving Zadorov to the wing... ala Brent Burns. Quote

IKnowPhysics Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 No. I have a small itch to elaborate on this. Will I scratch it? No. Quote

Johnny DangerFace Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 I'm not in favor of it but hey you never know! Quote

thewookie1 Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 No, however if we loaded with injuries to the offense I might dress 7 D and have him play some 4th line minutes. Quote
Trettioåtta Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 I'll say it again for those who weren't listening when someone asked this about Myers. Burns was drafted as an RW/D. He had played both positions before and frequently. There is a reason most players stay within the unit they were drafted (psst - it's because the NHL is so unforgiving you don;t have time or space to make the errors you would do in a new position). The only successful move I can think of is Ericksson - Detroit drafted him as a centre and instantly moved him to D Quote

I don't think zadorov or ristolainen could be forwards. Quote

Gragnani, Paetsch, John Scott, and Deslauriers just recently. With the style the game is played, I don't see the huge upside. D leading rushes isn't uncommon, so I'm not sure how much it buys you. Sorry, I should have been clearer - by successful, I meant capable of holding down a job in the NHL. Deslauriers hasn't proven anything yet, plus he was never a great D-man to begin with. Quote

We should absolutely ruin the development of the best defensive prospect in our system. Quote
WildCard Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 He still wouldn't be the physically dominating/goal-scoring machine that Kassian was for us :nana: Quote
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 He actually has the same skillset as Pronger and Stevens. While everyone wanted Myers to be that, here is a guy who might actually be able to come close some day. I think we choked on pick #8, but evened it out at #16. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 We should probably move him to goaltender... 'cus he's big. Quote

Kristian Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 I'd much prefer if we put a forward with good hands at forward. I want opposing forwards worrying about crossing our blue line when Zadorov is on the ice. Quote
SwampD Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Kristian beat me to it. Does this just keep coming up (Tyler Myers) because we don't have any forwards with hands and size? Quote
HopefulFuture Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 I have a small itch to elaborate on this. Will I scratch it? I don't believe moving zads to the forward ranks is beneficial to the team overall. I love the kids defensive game. If he stays the course development wise I believe it gives management a degree of flexability when it comes to making moves, particularly with Myers. I'm not advocating they will move Myers mind u, I'm merely stating zads as a d-man offers that possibility is all. So, what's your itch? Quote
North Buffalo Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 With Chara playing in front of net on PPs, that I think might be the only role forward that Z might have. Otherwise, keep him on D. Still need someone that can move the puck and shoot while on the PP for it to work. Quote
wjag Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 sure.. make Tyler a center too.. He likes to skate up the middle with the puck anyways... Quote
Claude_Verret Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Good idea. Then we draft Ekblad. Quote
