I don't get the play calling on the Bills' last two possessions. Why not throw the ball and try and put a final nail in the coffin?

Because a field goal puts the nail in the coffin. No need to risk it/stop the clock.

Our D is tough.

Miami's only TD was a result of brutal officiating.

We didn't let it effect us once again.

Because of that, Sammy's TD should have been a touchback w/ a Miami 1st and 10 at the 20,… but it wasn't.

Good win.

Found myself in a Nevada casino. Gave the point and picked the Bills. Me likely.

I thought Miami was favored. No?

I went in thinking I was getting a few points. Not the case. Buffalo closed a one point favorite.

I was in a casino last night and the Bills were favored by one point.

Edit: What a weird way to convey that information, self.

The action must have been heavy on the Bills. They definitely started the week +1.

So we've beaten the Bears and the Dolphins. Both teams are 1-1. The Dolphins beat the Patriots week one... and the Bears just beat the 49ers on the road. Next weeks opponent beat the defending champs... Things should get interesting.

I like being 2-0, it's surprising to say the least, however I do remember a 5-0 Trent (or Fitz) team that fell apart quickly, so I'm tempering my hopes. We look pretty decent, we need to score TD's on those drives if we plan on staying consistent.

-Graham has looked very good out there

-Watkins was a beast today

-I was at work and it sounded like the Ralph was pumped from what I could see

-love seeing the fins lose

Next week should be a decent measuring stick

Well watkins was a beast, but you could see very well he is playing hurt, avoiding physical contact.

Buffalo did all the things necessary to win a game yesterday:

1. Blocked a kick

2. Kickoff return for a TD

3. Timely sacks

4. Knocked opposing running back out of game

5. Covered in the secondary

6. Held a lead

7. Held Miami without a sack

8. No turnovers

9. Turned the ball over

10. Held serve at home

Even the punter kicked a ball off a guy's face.

You could say that Miami didn't play very well. But even without the blocked punt, the muffed punt and even the kickoff return, I think the Bills would have won yesterday. The play calling was perfectly conservative in the first half. Sure they could have come away with more, but having a 9-point lead at the half is pretty universally considered a successful half.

I think it's important for EJ to get that feeling that he knows what he's doing. Good fundamentals, learn the reads, learn when to throw it away, etc. Once he's got that on an NFL level, then he can start improvising. I'd much rather have a young quarterback playing within himself than to have a bit too much confidence and thinking he the next Brett Favre. (That's Tony Romo's problem - always tries to play like Favre with a Romo skillset.)

In the second half, the defense and the special teams gave the Bills the edge and they ran away with it. It's nice when it's a team effort. You can say that the offense wasn't outstanding, but they also played error-free ball. I think instilling that no mistakes mindset is important right now.

Bingo. Discipline is what is going to help this team win games with a young QB.

Good post. This stuff about EJ is especially so. If he can more or less stay on this pace of 60+% completion rate, ~200 yards give or take, a touchdown or two, and limited turnovers, that will be enough to get us 9 or 10 wins.

I thought I saw Marcel leaving the game in the fourth quarter with his leg wrapped yet I haven't heard any news on him. He's a huge (figuratively and literally) part of our D. What's going on there?
