Eleven Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 And Doug Marrone. And Bobby Petrino. And Nick Saban. Carroll and Harbaugh are exceptions, not the rule. There also really aren't any guys of their caliber looking to leave the college ranks. Maybe Kevin Sumlin. EDIT: only included Doug Marrone because he probably earned it if he ends up canned after this season. Just face the fact that there isn't a formula.
Hoss Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Just face the fact that there isn't a formula. Sure. But there's also the fact that guys like Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh, who were dominating in college, aren't available right now. The college route has failed far more often than it has succeeded.

The college route has failed far more often than it has succeeded. Every route has failed more often than it has succeeded. There isn't a formula.
Hoss Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Every route has failed more often than it has succeeded. There isn't a formula. Ok. So I shouldn't add what I think?
LastPommerFan Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Carrol was running a pro team when he went to the Seahawks. That is, in fact, why he had to leave.
Hoss Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Carrol was running a pro team when he went to the Seahawks. That is, in fact, why he had to leave. Well played.
Eleven Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Ok. So I shouldn't add what I think? It's the matter-of-fact style that's the problem. Within seconds of reading your post, I had come up with a bunch of SB-winning coaches (Johnson, Switzer, Walsh--I had forgotten Harbaugh) that went from college to the NFL and two (Vermeil, Coughlin) who had been "sitting out" for at least a couple of years before being rehired.
Hoss Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Wish Sunday ticket would allow us to see Pegula's introduction.
darksabre Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Frank Reich would be interesting. I would love Reich here.
dudacek Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Just lost the feed, not just our game, but entire Sunday ticket. I blame Belichik.
Hoss Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Just lost the feed, not just our game, but entire Sunday ticket. I blame Belichik. Is it back for you? Happened to me very momentarily.
dudacek Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 It's back now. First play I see is a pick. ######.
TrueBlueGED Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 That was a bad throw. Woof. It's Manuel's fault.
TrueBlueGED Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Nice coverage duke.....what the ###### That may have been the dumbest interference I've ever seen. Like, did he think the ref was going to miss *that*?
darksabre Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 That may have been the dumbest interference I've ever seen. Like, did he think the ref was going to miss *that*? It was either interfere or let him catch it clean.
Hoss Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 That may have been the dumbest interference I've ever seen. Like, did he think the ref was going to miss *that*? And then he tries arguing with the ref. Get the ###### outta here.
ubkev Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 It was either interfere or let him catch it clean. Right, because looking back and reaching up were out of the question. Besides, no,difference in him catching it clean other than our amazing D getting off the field one play sooner.
TrueBlueGED Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 It was either interfere or let him catch it clean. Or, ya know, turn around and try to make a play. The ball hit his arm, he had position to at least tip it.
darksabre Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Or, ya know, turn around and try to make a play. The ball hit his arm, he had position to at least tip it. You really think he was going to make a play on that ball? That's adorable.
ubkev Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 I see Duke Williams went to Aaron Maybin celebration school. Hey Duke, you're the reason we're down 7. How bout ya just jog off the field.
