26CornerBlitz Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 5 players carrying the freight Some players will be feeling the pressure of expectations more than others during these Stanley Cup playoffs. Here are five:1. Ryan Miller, St. Louis Blues When the Blues acquired the former Vezina Trophy winner and 2010 Olympic tournament MVP, the widespread belief was that they had found the missing link, the final piece to the long-awaited Stanley Cup puzzle. But the storyline has taken an abrupt turn in the final days of the regular season, with the Blues relinquishing top spot in the Central Division while suffering injuries to key players, including David Backes and T.J. Oshie. Now Miller, who can become an unrestricted free agent in July, will be called upon to be an even stronger force if the Blues are to advance deep into the playoffs and avoid adding another chapter to the team's long history of playoff disappointment. K-9 Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 Terry's blood work made Mysie switch to soy milk. See, now that, right there, is funny stuff. Can't get this comedy anywhere else. GO SABRES!!! Quote
SwampD Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 I guess you didn't notice that Tyler Myers season ended with broken bones for the 3rd consecutive year? Not to mention the ankle during the lockout.... Abraham Lincoln had Marfan syndrome. Things turned out pretty good for him,… oh,… wait. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 Abraham Lincoln had Marfan syndrome. Things turned out pretty good for him,… oh,… wait. So Miller should avoid the theater for a while? Quote
LastPommerFan Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 So Miller should avoid the theater for a while? Just actors. He should under no circumstances marry one. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 (edited) Milan Lucic Booth? I really think he was on the grassy knoll in Big D that November day. Edited April 15, 2014 by Sabres Fan In NS Quote
SwampD Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 Milan Lucic Booth? Sic semper suffero! Quote
DumbPuck Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 3 goals in period one.... I feel our draft pick slipping away already.... Quote
Jsixspd Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Miller gave up THREE goals in one period? Ouch! Quote
ubkev Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 3 goals in period one.... I feel our draft pick slipping away already.... It started slipping away 6 games ago. Quote
Jsixspd Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) Ryan Miller's stats for the 1st are ugly - only 7 shots against goal, and he let 3 of 7 in - SVG% of 0.571. Ouch The coach needs to read him the riot act in the locker room, ala Gunnery Sgt Hartman - "Miller, you had best square your ass away and start shitting me Tiffany cufflinks or I will definitely ###### you up!"   Edited April 18, 2014 by Jsixspd Quote
WildCard Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Miller is sliding around like he did for awhile with the Sabres. Too much overcommitment when he goes down Quote
Neo Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Miller is sliding around like he did for awhile with the Sabres. Too much overcommitment when he goes down He misses Corsi. Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 He misses Corsi. Corsi isn't busy now. He can be Miller's personal playoff consultant. Quote
LastPommerFan Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Looks like he straightened himself out. Quote
Andrew Amerk Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Well, it's tied now going into OT. Can everyone watching just relax? Quote
Hoss Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 To be fair, two of the goals can't really be put much on Miller. The one was just an impossible save on a pass from behind. The other was a complete defensive breakdown where, while he should have been in better position, he didn't have much help. Quote
Andrew Amerk Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Going into 2OT. Where is everyone? No one is watching? Quote
darksabre Posted April 18, 2014 Author Report Posted April 18, 2014 Going into 2OT. Where is everyone? No one is watching? Just got home from work. Loving this game so far. Quote
drnkirishone Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 miller has settled down a bit. thou the defensive coverage is still bi polar Quote
WildCard Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Going into 2OT. Where is everyone? No one is watching? Other thread ;) Though this one might be more suited for this match-up Quote
drnkirishone Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 speaking of that... maybe for the first round we should have seperate threads for the matchups? gets a bit confusing when we are discussing 3-4 different ongoing games at once in one thread. Quote
WildCard Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Blues are playing with some energy entering 2nd OT Quote
drnkirishone Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 that Schwartz guy is having a helluva game Quote
