Thank goodness they're playing tonight. The kvetching about the on-ice product has GOT to be better than the kvetching I read in the Mgmt Shakeup thread...

Didn't it begin on Friday night?

When one celebrates the beginning of a new era, one does not stop the celebration after one weekend.

Who will be pulled off the ice before warmups tonight ?

Will this be Ted Nolans last game as coach of the Sabres !

Going for 4 straight. I'd love to see it but the tank suffers so...I'm torn.

As always, GO SABRES !

Not me, I always root for a Sabres win. I just console myself when they lose by remembering the tank.

I'm thinking that the plan all along was for Halak not to play a game in a Sabres uniform, and will only be dressed for this game as a backup out of formality. If he was the starter mix for the rest of the season wouldn't you want to try out your new toy for the first game?

You are absolutely correct. Halak won't play a game until the deadline has passed.

Is Battista in Dallas to tell Nolan who to pull out of the locker room just before warm ups? Did Vinz make the trip?

On your second question: they would get a kid from Texas to step in and dress, just like Saint Louis did in Anaheim Friday night. (StL actually used a Ducks employee, I believe.)

I miss the good old days when Punch's secretary would have gotten Frank Christie on the black rotary phone.

I know everyone likes the feel good story of random guy off the street dressing as backup goalie, but can anyone remember that happening twice in back to back games? If Halak is traded prior to tonight's game, we would have 2 civilians as backups in back to back games...

Interesting, thanks for that info!
