Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Man this is weird. Yeah....I bet there's a lot of younger forum members who've never known any else as the primary Sabres goalie except Ryan Miller. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Free CenterIce this week. I've got U-Verse, they don't carry it. :( Quote
Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 You mean watching meaningful hockey? Yeah, you're right. Weird. Good point - this game actually matters - two good teams. Quote
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah....I bet there's a lot of younger forum members who've never known any else as the primary Sabres goalie except Ryan Miller. Good point....it's like the old timers seeing OJ in SF or Gretzky in LA.... Quote

WildCard Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Man this is weird. Yeah....I bet there's a lot of younger forum members who've never known any else as the primary Sabres goalie except Ryan Miller. As one of the younger members, this is actually a little surreal. I keep getting this feeling that this is temporary, that we just kind of loaned him for a season Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) I am totally behind the Blues. My thought is this: Ott and/or Miller will chase the Cup in free agency.... unless they win it this year. Then there is the chance they will be willing to sign with the Sabres and bring that Cup experience to the Sabres to help them build to the Cup. (Maybe wishful thinking, but to me it's the most plausible scenario for them coming back.) And even if they don't return the Sabres, they're both good players that deserve a Cup. These St. Louis announcers have man-crushes on Ott & Miller. Just like the rest of us. :flirt: Just like watchin' the Sabres.... lots of missed shots from the blue & gold. Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Somehow the Blues missed a WIDE OPEN goal - dayum!!!! Just like watchin' the Sabres.... lots of missed shots from the blue & gold. I was thinking the same thing - they seem to be snake-bit - I take it they're going thru a scoring drought of late too. Quote
Jeanbe Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 I'm watching too. I thought about going to the game tonight but didn't get out of work on time. I'm happy he finally gets to wear 39. Quote
Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 I didn't even notice - yes, he does have 39 at last! Nice! Well, so much for Halak's statement that Miller would face fewer shots - he's already faced 12. Quote

Randall Flagg Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah....I bet there's a lot of younger forum members who've never known any else as the primary Sabres goalie except Ryan Miller. Yupper. I'm still heartbroken. But happy for him. And Ott, too. Go Blues, go. Quote
inkman Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 They play different with Miller in net. Well played Quote
Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Blues somehow missed ANOTHER open net shot - and it was our old buddy Roy too. Tarasenko keeps making ill-advised passes. Also reminds me of the Sabres. Quote
Jeanbe Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Good point....it's like the old timers seeing OJ in SF or Gretzky in LA.... God I'm old......I remember both of these events. <sigh> Quote
Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Wow, no defense in front of the net either - another Deja-Sabres feeling for poor Ryan Quote
McD Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Ryan getting about as much help defensively with the Blues as he did with the Sabres... Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Yep. He'll chew 'em a new one in between periods. Quote
Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah, that was ridiculous - there were two Coyotes standing in front of the net - but the defenseman apparently didn't even see the second one just standing there - he pushed the nearest one away and left him standing there. Quote
Eleven Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 I watched the first half of the game. Ott, nearly absent (except for some jawing), Miller, absolutely a victim of his defense on the second goal (and I was in the bathroom during the first one, so I have no idea). Quote

First one was kinda flukey, but he might like that one back. I completely forgot Leopold was on St Louis. Quote
Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Buffalo scores more often than the Blues. It's pushing 200 minutes of game time since the last time they scored a goal. Lack of scoring and no defense..... sounds kinda like pre-LaFontaine Sabres. Just checking - the Blues had 8 current players in the Olympics - post-Olympic bonk really hitting them hard it seems like Quote

Jsixspd Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah, but that would really suck to be a fan of a hot team like the Blues were, pre-Olympics, and then have them come out looking totally flat and lifeless after the long Olympic break. Another reason why NHL players shouldn't be in the Olympics. Quote
