Eleven Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 With so many people from America's Hat on the board, and two, TWO big games tomorrow and Friday, let's have at it. If anyone can post that picture of Mt. Rushmore as seen from the Canadian side, I'd really appreciate it.

Jsixspd Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 The United States armed forces have drafted detailed plans for the invasion of Canada. The U.S. has even conducted, in the past, war games where U.S. troops have been massed near the Canadian border in a mock invasion.
nfreeman Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 As I posted elsewhere: the USA is going to win this game. They are going to neutralize Canada's pretty boys, like the other Canadian opponents have done, and take the fight to them. David Backes is a wild beast. That is all.
Cereal Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Is it the 7am ET game or the noon ET game? How do they not have this info available immediately after the conclusion of the CAN-LAT game? I'd have to guess noon.
LGR4GM Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 ... I blame Canada (Inappropriate Language, FYI)
MattPie Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Vermont maple syrup is better than Canadian maple syrup.

Campy Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) USA-Canada should be a good one. Too bad I have to be at work because part of me would love to pick up H.o.m.o Milk and Kraft dinner for lunch and then throw back a mickie or two-four while watching on my Chesterfield. But I won't because the other part of me is American and knows how to ###### speak English. EDIT: The filter blocked what our friends accross the border call homogenized milk! josie Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 d4rk and I will be behind Canadian lines this weekend. d4rk will probably get both of us arrested. Tensions are high. This is war.
millbank Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Sincere comment hope all will have fun with this, root hard for their respective teams ect. but also respect the sensibilities of the other, one will be pleased , one will not be. Such games at times make me nervous as to often otherwise fine people get emotional and say things they would not normally say. As it goes once something is said it hard to take back. :)

nfreeman Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 I just bet my Canadian cousins, all of whom are large and can really eat, a "loser buys wings next time we get together" wager on this game. Millbank: go ####### yourself and all of your #######, ########-licking, ########-smelling, ######## ######## of a mother-######## ######-box of a #########-bag countrymen. It is ON.

Such games at times make me nervous as to often otherwise fine people get emotional and say things they would not normally say. As it goes once something is said it hard to take back. :) same here. i will admit: i root for my national teams (well, team, really--it's just hockey for me) on a level that approximates, but does not equal, the way in which i cheer for my hometown teams. the same goes for my college's teams. i cheer like hell for them, but not quite in the same way i do for my hometown teams. i say this because i sense it's quite different for almost all canadians (and, yeah, probably some americans). I just bet my Canadian cousins, all of whom are large and can really eat, a "loser buys wings next time we get together" wager on this game. Kristian Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 You know, that's the first time I ever noticed Miller wore #39 for that tournament.
Campy Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 You know, that's the first time I ever noticed Miller wore #39 for that tournament. It's his number from his days at Michigan State (and maybe before). For obvious reasons, he didn't want to wear 39 in Bflo. all right thats it .....@#@$#@@@#$@#@..........@#@#@@#@#@%&*% and further more #$%#@%&*% ( I so worked up now had to edit four times.. :o ) That's the spirit! :clapping:
Eleven Posted February 19, 2014 Author Report Posted February 19, 2014 You know, that's the first time I ever noticed Miller wore #39 for that tournament. I knew that, but this is the first time I ever noticed that dudacek is a filthy Canadian.
dudacek Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 I knew that, but this is the first time I ever noticed that dudacek is a filthy Canadian. You Yanks never were very good at noticing things outside your borders...
... Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Both teams are stacked with talent, so I think that parameter is a wash. I think Bylsma is in a zone with his coaching right now, while Babcock and crew are not. Team Canada did not look hungry versus Latvia, whom they should have steamrolled (regardless of Latvia's goalie). I think this is a result of the lack of team chemistry for the Canadians and Babcock is having a hard time because of that. Team USA is much more of a "team" and I believe that is what puts them over Canada two days out. If Team Canada can gel over the next few days, it could make things interesting. Being right on the border, I can attest that USA beers, thanks to the microbrews, are far superior to Canadian beers.
Cereal Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Trivia question (I just had to look it up after guessing myself): How many miles of border are there between the US and Canada? Sorry, no answers in kilometers will be accepted :nana:
LastPommerFan Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 You Yanks never were very good at noticing things outside your borders... We have a lot to do, producing half the worlds GDP, inventing all of the things, producing all of the movies, etc. We only have time to notice the important things.
