Eleven Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 There is too much ice out there You know, I'm starting to come 'round to this way of thinking. I'm not a fan of the white helmets over dark blue sweaters. Quote
3putt Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 You know, I'm starting to come 'round to this way of thinking. I'm not a fan of the white helmets over dark blue sweaters. I am too. Great players in space is entertaining. Bs call. Quote
Eleven Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 Ok. So last night, I dreamt that both teams changed goalies with approximately 6 minutes left in the second period. Let's see if that happens. I'll bet not. Quote
wjag Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 I am too. Great players in space is entertaining. Bs call. Not me.. I think it marginalizes the defense. Quote
Eleven Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 Not me.. I think it marginalizes the defense. I like the extra ice in the neutral zone (can't trap!) but it's too much at the ends of the rink. Quote
SwampD Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 I don't care how this day started (and it was bad), Bloody Marys and live hockey, life is good. Quote
Eleven Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 Those wishing for Quick to be dispatched, umm, quickly, are going to be disappointed. Quote
wjag Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Good view by NBC of how Russians are cherry picking Quote
87168 Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Those wishing for Quick to be dispatched, umm, quickly, are going to be disappointed. I feel a lot more confident with Quick in net, but Miller is our Miller haha. I just want to US to get the gold this time around. Quote
3putt Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Not me.. I think it marginalizes the defense. I think it requires better skating defensemen and centers that back check. The Russians are backchecking well. Quote
Jeanbe Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 I like the big surface too. Love watching the skill it allows. Quote
Eleven Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 I feel a lot more confident with Quick in net, but Miller is our Miller haha. I just want to US to get the gold this time around. I'd actually be more confident with Miller in there, but only slightly. It's a tough choice. I don't think there's a chance that the US wins gold. Hope I'm wrong. Quote
wjag Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 I like the big surface too. Love watching the skill it allows. To each his own. I'm watching a team game, not an individual skills competition. Quote
3putt Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 The USA needs to leverage their speed. Dump and chase wont work with the Russian d playing so far inside their line. They need to use the open ice on the sides to generate speed races that I think we can win. Quote
Eleven Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 To each his own. I'm watching a team game, not an individual skills competition. You just turned poor Jeanbe into a man! The USA needs to leverage their speed. Dump and chase wont work with the Russian d playing so far inside their line. They need to use the open ice on the sides to generate speed races that I think we can win. I don't think we have the speed to keep up w/ Russia, outside of Kane and maybe a couple of others. Quote

SwampD Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) The USA needs to leverage their speed. Dump and chase wont work with the Russian d playing so far inside their line. They need to use the open ice on the sides to generate speed races that I think we can win. They also need to start using those live endboards more. Edited February 15, 2014 by SwampD Quote
North Buffalo Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 That was some intense hockey. The skill on even the missed passes was impressive. Maybe put Kane, Kessel and a Reimsdyk together for a shift. That would be fast enough. Still heckuv a game. Quote
SwampD Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 On the pp to start. That was a rough lookin power play. There is some great hitting going on. I don't think the big ice marginalizes the D at all. I just think they have to be more skilled and not just tackle someone. Quote
Rico7 Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Quick keeps sliding out of position because he is so agressive. Fortunate Russia hit the post twice. Quote
Eleven Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 Quick keeps sliding out of position because he is so agressive. Fortunate Russia hit the post twice. He definitely is leaving some BIG open spaces to shoot at right now. Even after the power play. Quote
