Doohicksie Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 3 - 4 years, smart guy, lowballing our expectations for when this team does well in 2 yrs everyone will say he is a great GM. My thought exactly. And with a three year contract for Nolan, you just know he'll be coaching his cojones off in the second half of his contract to get an extension as the team matures. Three years is the perfect contract length to offer Nolan. Quote
Hoss Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Might be time to update the Sabres app. Ryan Miller is still on the loading page. Quote
WildCard Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Is anyone else having trouble watching this presser? I get to the page and it just keeps loading No offense 26, thanks for the link either way Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Islanders fans, obviously, are absolutely incensed. Hilarious. Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Islanders fans, obviously, are absolutely incensed. Hilarious. Good keep losing Islanders this year and next! Quote

I get to the page and it just keeps loading No offense 26, thanks for the link either way That was a live link. Recorded link not up yet. @BuffaloSabres Deslauriers and Klesla, acquired by #Sabres, to start with @AmerksHockey "for now," Murray tells @WGR550. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) Good keep losing Islanders this year and next! Troof. Collberg's not going to do ###### for them net year. They're going to finish last-5 this year and take a big step backwards? Excellent. Edited March 5, 2014 by IKnowPhysics Quote
darksabre Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Islanders fans, obviously, are absolutely incensed. Hilarious. I would give up my fanhood. It would be so easy. Become a Rangers fan or something. The NHL should step in to manage that mess. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Nah. ###### 'em. A truly great example of truly horrible ownership. Quote
nobody Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Murray said he would focus on trading the upcoming ufa players and not so much on players under contract. Looks like he was honest about that. Even McNabb was on the final year of his contract. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 ######, we forgot to get a 6th round pick for Sulzer. TRADE DAY RUINED. Quote
Hoss Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) I think the Moulson, Miller and Ott deals were successful. I think theb McNabb one was a bad one but I guess the future will judge that. I don't like the Halak deal, but maybe Neuvirth shocks us. (Counting the Miller and Ott deals separately). Three for five is a good number. The important parts, since none of the prospects are outstanding: gave up two seconds (and one conditional second), a third (and a conditional third) and got back a first (and a conditional first) and two seconds. LGR4GM Posted March 5, 2014 Author Report Posted March 5, 2014 Darcy's crowning trade achievement may in fact be his last trade. If the Isles defer and then win the Lottery... I may have to actually thank him. Quote
dudacek Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) This season's teardown is over. Rounding off the picks (LA's 2nds our third going out, Minnesota's and Winnipeg's seconds coming in) and concentrating on the pieces that matter: Miller, Ott and Vanek (plus McNabb) netted us: Two players (Stewart and Neuvirth) Three prospects (Fasching, Deslaurier and Carrier) And four picks (Islanders first, Blues first, Islanders 2nd and the Blues conditional pick) That's nine pieces with upside. I'm OK with the return. Now we wait and see how they develop. Edited March 5, 2014 by dudacek Quote

IKnowPhysics Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 I will say this, though: Scott Konopka Mitchell Foligno Stewart Weber We are Class A ###### to play against. Quote

I don't think the McNabb deal is a bad one. Murray obiviously want Fasching and was willing to give up a Defenseman that couldn't nail down a spot on the worst team in the league and the picks don't mean much when they were part of the LA's pick from last years trade. I'm guessing that Murray is going to draft a goalie of the future in the next two drafts plus we have a few that could possibly make it from the last two drafts. I will say this, though: Scott Konopka Mitchell Foligno Stewart Weber We are Class A ###### to play against. Don't worry most won't be here in 2 years Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) Don't worry most won't be here in 2 years That's a good thing we have them. Something to watch while we're waiting for the show to start at the BB&T Center. Edited March 5, 2014 by IKnowPhysics Quote

That's a pretty good haul considering we probably could have only signed one of those guys if we tried to, and still have a chance to sign Ott or Moulson, although it may not be so likely. Quote

Derrico Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 I'm looking forward to this rebuild. There's going to be a lot of youth on this team in the next few years. They might not win a lot but at least it wont be the status quo. 100 percent agree, count me in! Quote
Johnny DangerFace Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Hold on let me get this straight. The islanders traded away moulson, their 2015 or 2014 1st, their 2015 2nd for Sebastian Collberg and if Montreal makes the playoffs they get a 2nd and 5th.... HAHA Quote
