Johnny DangerFace Posted April 11, 2014 Report Posted April 11, 2014 Yea. Doesn't mean they can't be moved. Except there is zero reasons to move a prospect under contract. Quote
Hoss Posted April 11, 2014 Report Posted April 11, 2014 Except there is zero reasons to move a prospect under contract. Except when you can get value for them and have a logjam. I was saying if anybody had to go... Wasn't saying somebody had to. Quote
Norcal Posted April 11, 2014 Report Posted April 11, 2014 McBain should not be tendered, he needs to go away. I have a feeling Scott will be back on a one or two year contract. Tallinder will sign for one more year as well. It's not as if Adam has earned a spot on the Sabres but I'm willing to bet he will be on someone's roster next year ala Clark MacArthur Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Dan Boyle is a free agent??? Dare I dream? Quote
deluca67 Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Dan Boyle is a free agent??? Dare I dream? What would a rebuilding team do with a 37 year old (38 by start of the 2014-15 season) blue-liner? Quote
drnkirishone Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 What would a rebuilding team do with a 37 year old (38 by start of the 2014-15 season) blue-liner? trade him for picks and prospects at the trade deadline Quote
ubkev Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 trade him for picks and prospects at the trade deadline This made me laugh. I dont know if it was a joke or not. If it was, well done sir! Quote
Hoss Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Dan Boyle is a free agent??? Dare I dream? Boyle isn't what he once was. Still steady, but he doesn't change much for this team. Quote
X. Benedict Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 trade him for picks and prospects at the trade deadline yep. Giving a few vets a place to park until the next market opens isn't a bad idea. Teams with kids need veterans, they learn more from the vets than the coaches. The more veteran partners a young player has in his career, especially on D, the better they will become. Quote

I love this idea! We could tell the veteran they will be traded at deadline to a contender. Do it three years in a row and we would be loaded with young talent! Quote

Keep signing Ott to one year deals until he can finally play in the playoffs on our team. Quote
Hoss Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 My guesses for the Buffalo-related free agent names that get mentioned here a lot: Steve Ott ends up in San Jose Matt Moulson ends up in Los Angeles Thomas Vanek ends up in Minnesota Ryan Callahan ends up staying in Tampa Bay Quote
Huckleberry Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 trade him for picks and prospects at the trade deadline What dallas did with jagr last year. Also i wouldn't give Callahan 6.5 mill a year, but maybe he takes a hometown discount never know. Also might be a reason he put his asking price so high, knowing nobody would go into that , he doesn't come out as the bad guy in new york while wanting to come to buffalo. Still say Ott and callahan sign with us, we can dream no ? :D Quote
Hoss Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Still say Ott and callahan sign with us, we can dream no ? :D I don't think that's much of a dream. We've had plenty of players like both of them, and they've gotten us nowhere. I'd rather get the types of players that you need at the top of your team before worrying too much about guys like them. We have Callahan types in the system right now. Quote
dEnnis the Menace Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 I really hope McBain leaves because I cannot stand to watch another season of him... I figure we'll take a stab at Ott or Moulson. Not sure we'd get either though. Quote
