Hoss Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 Isn't reaching the floor as easy as waiting out the entire offseason to figure out our plan, then calling John Scott at the last second and paying him the difference for one year? I'd love for Milbury to actually have a heart attack if Big John was getting more than $1M next year.... It's actually easier and less ridiculous than that... Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 NHL buyout window: Where your team stands Buffalo Sabres Buyouts used: 0 Ville Leino ($4.5-million cap hit until 2016-17) is the posterboy buyout candidate, but former GM Darcy Regier pulled the trigger on forward Nathan Gerbe ($1.45 million cap hit through 2013-14) last season instead. Gerbe’s buyout, however, did not fall under the amnesty category. He signed with the Carolina Hurricanes and scored 31 points; Leino scored no goals this season. New manager Tim Murray said in April there would be “a very good possibility” he buys out Leino now. Now we just wait for the press release with the headline "Sabres Buyout Ville Leino. Will Commemorate With Burning of #23 Jersey" #Sabres Quote
ubkev Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 NHL buyout window: Where your team stands This last sentance is complete and utter ######! No one on earth owns a Sabres Leino jersey. Quote
Jeanbe Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 If I had a # 23 jersey it would have Carriere nameplate. :) Quote
Hoss Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Ville Leino owns a 23 jersey. They'll burn it. Whether he's wearing it at the time of burning or not is immaterial. Quote

darksabre Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 On the contrary, I'd prefer him to wear it. They'll spend 82 more games trying to get a match to stay lit. Quote
Jsixspd Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 The one positive aspect about Leino - his embarrassing, laughing-stock, epic failure in Buffalo probably helped get Darcy Regier out of here. For that I guess we should be grateful Quote

stenbaro Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 For as absolutley ridiculous it is for him to not score One goal, its as ridiculous he was only a -16 on that pathetic team...Go figure Quote
Jsixspd Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Wow Leino really is some special company http://www.hockey-re...&order_by=goals Remember, one of Darcy Regier's stated goals was to get another Finnish player to "compliment" Leino. Sadly Darcy forgot his grade school math. 2 x 0 still equals 0 Quote
