This is where Nolan is the right coach for this team. He knows Omark isn't really a 1st/2nd line guy at this point, but is willing to play him in that position to try to get some grit to rub off on him. I can't imagine RR doing that.

Well it's a process for a guy and a challenge. He came in here a couple weeks ago and its a process to get him where he needs to be in our system. Omark can be a real positive though.

So, after slamming the Sabres brass for sitting Pysyk we found out that they have a plan. Rest him up a bit now for precautionary reasons and also because they will probably get him singe more experience playing in Rochester during the Olympic break.

 

Why is it that people just assume that the people who get paid to operate hockey teams have no clue what they are doing?

 

It seems that it would just be better to take a few steps back and analyze a larger data set before setting off on the opinions of what is right and wrong.

 

If you've written off this season (who hasn't?) then the development of players is all that matters. Since we are not privy to the day to day operations and interaction of players we really are not in a position to judge an individual move when it happens.

 

Ok. Just remember to remind yourself its ok when he benches Girgs so he doesn't get overworked with the Olympics coming up. Guys like Crosby are going to play 82 games, probably reach the gold medal game, and the Cup finals.

 

Again, i don't really care they bench him. It's the lame reasoning some of you guys are buying. Just say he hasn't been playing well or whatever. Saying a 20 year old kid is going to play to many games when he is not in the Olympics or playoffs is stupid.

I think they fear him wearing out, jumping between the AHL schedule and NHL schedule. He'll be playing every third night up until the olympic break (I believe that's how it plays out on average), and then play the AHL schedule during the Olympic break, and then back to the grind of the NHL which, in the back half of the season is an average of a game every other night or something like that.

Well, if you want to prevent threads from deteriorating into bitchfests, rephrasing the bolded stuff would be a good place to start.

I so don't want to insert myself into this, but I think in that particular quote, he's calling out Nolan and not members of this board.

I like hockey. It's fun.

 

 

My game got cancelled because of the weather, so a nice fire, a couple of tasty Manhattans, and the Sabres game it is. Pretty nice consolation prize, I guess

I've been on here for 3 or 4 years or so, and 95% of the time, I don't bring much to the board of real substance....... I'm no prodigy like 26CB ;) I also don't remember ever getting into any real arguments like I come across in some threads, idk if I'm not trying hard enough or if I'm too passive, I don't really know if I'm actually coming to a real point here either, but I don't recall ever being "attacked" in my time here...... On a side note, this GDT is already longer than most from earlier in the season.

jeez up to 4 pages already. The old crowd is coming back. P.S. Got off early from work so I actually get to watch a first period. New shift 11-8. That being said, I am just enjoying the effort despite the lack of goals, Nolan has them playing at and it is really nice to see Myers playing so well, bout time.
