26CornerBlitz Posted January 19, 2014 Author Report Posted January 19, 2014 Isn't he 2 of 6? I'm posting it wrong.....Shooters are 4 of 6. Huh? 4 shots tonight and 3 saves. 3 out of 4. And he missed both shots in Toronto...0 for 2. That' s 3 saves out of 6 shots Actually missed all three in Toronto. Saved 1 of 3 tonight, so he's 2 of 6 in the last two games.
dudacek Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Leino has to go. This isn't just me venting. It's just smart risk management. If he gets hurt before we buy him out that's a $13.5 million mistake. He won't be missed at all. Omark or Luke Adam can easily fill his role in the line-up until D'Agostini gets back. Hell, each would probably be better. He needs to be bought out immediately.

Probably flip a coin. They were both great tonight. #Sabres
dudacek Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 He can't be bought out until the Summer. Really? I didn't know that. What was the deal last year when the Habs bought out Gomez during the season? I think there was one other guy, too. Well, if that's the case, he needs to be wrapped in toilet paper and locked up in the press box until July 1.

It was a special situation worked out by the League and the PA for those two.
Jsixspd Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 If that's the case with Leino, then the Sabres are I'm posting it wrong.....Shooters are 4 of 6. Actually missed all three in Toronto. Saved 1 of 3 tonight, so he's 2 of 6 in the last two games. ahhh, thanks for the info. I was 'watching' the game on Game Cast, so I thought he only faced 2 shots in the shootout. Missing 3 in a row, and now only 3 out of 4 saves tonight? 3 out of 7 or .430 save percentage? And his GAA for the last 2 games is up to 3.0!!! Somebody really needs to make Miller aware of these stats. Nolan ought to maybe bench him, in lieu of Enroth, to light a fire? He can't be bought out until the Summer. Then it's ridiculous, given Leino's frail, Thin-Finn physique, and injury prone nature AND his utter lack of productivity or even usefulness of any kind, on the ice... to even play him. Bench him and get rid of him in the summer while he has some value.
tom webster Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 DIfferent story than Wednesday. Tonight, it really was the Sabres shooters, like you said. Wednesday, he plain sucked. Speaking of tonight, I don't know that I ever want to see CoHo in the top three again. I like him, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he's a shootout guy. I mean, I can direct it right towards Bobrovsky's pads, too. Didn't Hodgson get the deciding goal in 2 shoot outs this year including his first game back from injury, against Washingyon I think.
dudacek Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Tyler Myers is looking as good as he ever has. A force on both ends of the ice. Screw-ups have been virtually eliminated, the offence is coming back, and he's bringing the nasty. So glad we have been patient with this guy. And I am drooling over a defence in three or four years that includes him, Risto and Nikita. I'm sure I'm drunk, but they could seriously turn into the three best defencemen this franchise has ever had, all on the same team. Schoeny and Ramsey couldn't attack like these guys can. One final thought on the defence: I want McNabb up for the rest of the season We know what we have in Weber, McBain, Tallinder and Sulzer We need to see if McNabb can be a regular and send one of those guys packing for good.
Weave Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Didin''t catch the game. Saw lots of comments here about a high hit by Myers? What's the deal?
Robviously Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Didin''t catch the game. Saw lots of comments here about a high hit by Myers? What's the deal? One of the Blue Jackets sorta turned awkwardly when Myers was chasing him for the puck into the corner, and Myers ended up putting his head into the glass with his shoulder. On the replay it looked like Myers left his feet and targeted the head, so it'll probably be another suspension. He only got 2 minutes for boarding during the game but that was mainly because the Columbus player wasn't hurt.

RRay said the Columbus player looked like he turned and leapt up at the last second making the hit look like it did, which I agree with.

I think they can buy him out any time they want to (as the Habs did with Gomez). They just can't use a "compliance buyout" until summer. Didn't Hodgson get the deciding goal in 2 shoot outs this year including his first game back from injury, against Washingyon I think. I know about one. There may be a second. That shot was fugly tonight.

This i'm on board with 100%. Weber and McBain i'm fine with as they are young but send Hank and Alex packing. There is no need to keep those 2.

Jsixspd Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Myers looked like he left his feet? Not to me. RRay said the Columbus player looked like he turned and leapt up at the last second making the hit look like it did, which I agree with. He didn't leave his feet, but there was a clear upward springing/jumping motion that looked like he was trying to add momentum to the hit to the player's head. We watched it a couple times in slow mo last night afterwards. That's why I said it will be 'trouble' at the time, especially since he just came off suspension. At least it's every bit as clear as the 'distinct kicking motion' that caused our goal to be disallowed. And do I agree with it? NO! The league is very biased in the enforcement of these suspensions, as we know from Boston's history. If Tyler Myers gets suspended for this, then many of Boston's past transgressions should have earned suspensions too.
Stoner Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 The Columbus player turning into the hit will save Myers a suspension, IMHO.

Iron Crotch Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 I missed the game since I was at the Preds - Avs game last night, but I see Weber was a -2, which puts his at a -23 on the year in only 33 games. For a guy getting third pair minutes, that... ain't... good.

He's had some gaffs but I think his lack of athletecism was compounded when every Sabre forward hung the defense out to dry about 2 dozen times every game under Rahlston.
dudacek Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Seriously, when all is said and done, I will be judging players on what they did/do under Nolan. It just continues to become more and more clear how bad Rolston was.

Every time Myers goes deep into the O zone, it results in a 2 on 1 the other way. Every time Myers goes deep into the O zone, no Sabre forward covers his point. Is Myers really that hard to spot on the ice that they don't see him going in? Basic hockey and beyond frustrating. That said, when the Sabres are eventually a Cup team, I doubt Weber is on it.

He may be the #7 on that team, but he is a playoff d-man through and through. I can see someone trying to get him at the deadline.

Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 No.....just no! I hope it is here, but Weber is the kind of depth guy I go after if I am a Boston, Pitt, LA. I can see an Ott/Weber package at the deadline for somebody's 1st.
