ubkev Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 I love the move Omark tried. Pull back and lob it over a diving/poking goalie. He just didn't execute it. Miller was Miller. Hodgson good shot
SwampD Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Miller steals two points That's as good a save as any there are out there.
darksabre Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Miller steals two points Hasek would have made that save while banging Satan's wife. Miller sucks.
Trettioåtta Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Miller steals two points WOW! The game was blacked out for me :( (and the Sabres only play like 6 games before midnight this year) At what point in the game was that save?
26CornerBlitz Posted January 12, 2014 Author Report Posted January 12, 2014 WOW! The game was blacked out for me :( (and the Sabres only play like 6 games before midnight this year) At what point in the game was that save? Late in the 3rd. Ridiculous Robbery!
dudacek Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Nope, there is no trade market for Miller. Who would want that guy? Minor upgrade at best.
Kristian Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 If Team USA starts Quick over Miller, they gotta be royally nuts.
thewookie1 Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Wins in overtime don't hurt oddly enough, it still helps other teams stay ahead of us. Omark tried his signature move but failed sadly. Hodgson wins the shootout and gets an assist on the night. Girgs seems to do everything except play goalie. Miller was great as always. Well at least in this season's concern.

Hodgson good shot Maybe it worked in the Swiss league, but if a NHL goalie falls for that, he should be sent down.
Robviously Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Just to recap: At the halfway point for the season, the Sabres aren't even close to a playoff team, their games have almost no entertainment value, and they're diligently working their way out of a top draft pick. How many years in a row do we have to watch the same season unfold? This is the fourth year in a row. Hope Murray can make some trades and break the spell.
Trettioåtta Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Maybe it worked in the Swiss league, but if a NHL goalie falls for that, he should be sent down. Datsyuk has used it in the NHL and Omark has successfully done it in some competition where he represented Sweden i believe

Hmm, you aren't the first guy to say that in this thread. I liked the team's game tonight. It was a very good road game: hard, straight ahead skating, quick passing and lots of strength on the man and the puck. In short, Ted Nolan hockey. It's so much superior to watch than the Rolston team that never engaged in battles — let alone won them — and couldn't make a pass through the neutral zone to save their lives. I mean it would be great to watch some more skill, but I'm willing to take one step at a time. @ Sizzle, you've got good takes on most things Sabre, but your hatred for Hodgson is a blind spot. The kid is flawed, but he played hard tonight and did some good things.
darksabre Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Maybe it worked in the Swiss league, but if a NHL goalie falls for that, he should be sent down. Grubauer DID fall for it. Omark just didn't pull it off.
ubkev Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Datsyuk has used it in the NHL and Omark has successfully done it in some competition where he represented Sweden i believe I was just going to say Datsyuk has used it. So has Daniel Sedin on Jonas Hiller.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Grubauer DID fall for it. Omark just didn't pull it off. Omark had Gru's 5-hole wide open if he just slid it along the ice. He outsmarted himself there.
Brawndo Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 If you read between the lines of what he's been saying, this is bound to occur. Absolutely On WGR on Friday Morning he mentioned something to the effect that if the Sabres are spinning their wheels in eight or ninth place close to the trade deadline, changes would be made.
darksabre Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Omark had Gru's 5-hole wide open if he just slid it along the ice. He outsmarted himself there. I think he wanted to slide it but the rolling puck was hard to control.
Campy Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 This won'tbe news flash to many of you, but this is first game I've been to zince we aquired Leiono. And holy crap, he isvl not a good hockey player. His game must look a lot better on TV, because man, the guy has no hockey sense whatsover. How he lit us in the playoffs is beyond me. He's not good... That said, it's nice to get the W.
deluca67 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 If Team USA starts Quick over Miller, they gotta be royally nuts. I can't believe that there isn't a huge market for Miller out there. I can name 5 teams of the top of my head that are battling for a playoff spot where adding Miller would pretty much guarantee a spot.
inkman Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 How he lit us in the playoffs is beyond me. He's not good... He was the beneficiary of superb linemates
Weave Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 He was the beneficiary of superb linemates Hartnell and Briere in his prime would make Stafford a playoff force.
zow2 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Fun game in DC today. Tons of Sabres fans there today as usual. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, no drunken idiots from what i could see. I kind of expected the Caps to send another 50+ shots at Miller. I was surprised the Sabres played them even for the most part until the last 3 minutes. Very solid road game for Miller and the boys considering they were playing a much more talented team.
