Hoss Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 The sad part about it is, that 1.965 ranks as 2nd lowest in the NHL in 60 years. AND THAT'S .67 HIGHER THAN WITH ENROTH!!!! Do you want me to make it worse? My math on Miller is a little off. It's actually 1.9 as he has 30 appearances, not 29. Per 60 mintutes the numbers are: Enroth 1.343 goals for Miller: 1.91 goals for
SwampD Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Are you comparing a clean hit to Scott's head hunting? How embarrassing for you. ;) It was only clean because it was a Sabre getting hit in the head. Talk about embarrassing.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 And this. She'll be good when she's older, but for now I'd much rather have Doug. Whatever happened to Ronan? Larry Quinn still had him here after he made the comments....it was a Larry Quinn doing.....the way that guy butchered the anthem, it was a disgrace.
Eleven Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 And this. She'll be good when she's older, but for now I'd much rather have Doug. Whatever happened to Ronan? Actually, we have no idea whether she'll be good after the change hits her. And your prior post about her enunciation was right on.
TrueBlueGED Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I think Enroth is just getting really unlucky. I thought maybe the team played a more defensive game with him in net, but that's not the case. Possession stats are basically identical with Miller/Enroth in net, although the Sabres are averaging about 2-3 shots more per game with Miller. The biggest difference is team shooting percentage: 5.78% with Miller versus 4.66% with Enroth. Presumably that will start to even out as Enroth plays more games.
... Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 As much as I doubt Moulson will re-sign with the Sabres, it would be a huge message to the league and other players if the Sabres could. The same can be said for Ott and Miller. Agreed on Ott and Miller, especially Miller, but I'm not sure if Moulson's staying has all that much cache. However, I think he and Ott are probably more inclined than Miller to stay, although I still think Miller is more 50/50 on the matter than leaning toward leaving.

deluca67 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I am not comparing a clean hit to Scott's headhunting, because neither was the case. Jovo's hit was not clean, and Scott's hit was not headhunting. Jovo's hit was cleaner than Scott's, though. Sadly, you are wrong on both accounts. Moulson, Miller and Ott are all assets for a team that arguably is the worst since the expansion era. Being assets, we should trade them for market value, and if we want them back, we offer more than other teams offer to get to the cap floor. Right? If only it were that simply. I believe part of what was said yesterday was Tim Murray having to find out who wants to be here. If Murray can convince Miller, Moulson and/or Ott to re-sign it's a message to other players that established NHL players want to play in Buffalo. It's has little to do with the Sabres desire to sign them or reaching the cap floor. There is a bigger picture. It was only clean because it was a Sabre getting hit in the head. Talk about embarrassing. There was a time I could take you seriously, for some reason you continue to fall deeper into your delusion. It's sad, like this example: Nothing is going to change my mind that these games aren't fixed. Roger Goodell can lick my taint. Agreed on Ott and Miller, especially Miller, but I'm not sure if Moulson's staying has all that much cache. However, I think he and Ott are probably more inclined than Miller to stay, although I still think Miller is more 50/50 on the matter than leaning toward leaving. Moulson is a legit 30+ goal scorer and has done so on less than stellar teams. I would expect there to be many teams that have him at the top of their free agent boards. Buffalo taking him off the market would raise more than a few eyebrows, IMO.

One theory I have always thought is that the Sabres play a more aggressive game (take more risks) with Miller in net. So possession stats wouldn;t show that a D-man is more likely to jump into the play. The main evidence i have for this is that Miller seems to face more 2 on 1s and breakways that Enroth. Having said that, there is no denying Enroth is just an unlucky guy atm and is playing well
kishoph Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 It was only clean because it was a Sabre getting hit in the head. Talk about embarrassing. It's Omark's fault, he's is too short.
papazoid Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 What would make resigning Ott more of a message than resigning Moulson? (No snark, honest question). based on last nights game, OTT will not be back with the sabres. the only....and I mean only thing he did well last night was talk trash on his way back to the bench.

There was a time I could take you seriously, for some reason you continue to fall deeper into your delusion. It's sad, like this example: Not sure what Roger Googell has to do with the NHL, but,… Compare Leino's elbow that got him suspended to Gregory Campbell's elbow Perreault and tell me there isn't a bias. There was a time when I could take you seriously, as well. …and the NFL is fixed.
biodork Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Larry Quinn still had him here after he made the comments....it was a Larry Quinn doing.....the way that guy butchered the anthem, it was a disgrace. Didn't he used to sing God Bless America instead of the anthem? Actually, we have no idea whether she'll be good after the change hits her. And your prior post about her enunciation was right on. Well she *should* improve with age as she gets better control and more practice. I don't think girls' voices go through "the change" like boys do. ;)
Assquatch Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I thought she had an great voice. The anthems did take forever though.

There is no way to predict how a child will sound once she passes through puberty. Her sense of pitch and general appreciation of music should improve, though. I always did musical classes and groups throughout high school and college, but never considered majoring in it.
bcsaberks Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Liking the way Omark looks tonight. Same. I thought that line was our best, Foligno and Flynn I think. During OT I kept looking for him complaining the TN wouldn't put him out there. With 40 seconds left he finally gets a shift (after D'Agostini). SPLAT! Devasting. No easy road to the NHL.

MattPie Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I thought she had an great voice. The anthems did take forever though. I said to my wife, "She needs a voice coach." That probably sounds harsher than I meant it too, but I meant she needs someone to fix her pronunciation (you can't sing the quite the same as you speak otherwise it comes out strange) and to a certain degree, rhythm. I didn't notice her pitch being that bad, but I was pretty distracted by the first two things I mentioned. :) (Guess who was a serious music geek in HS and considered it for a major)
Doohicksie Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Did Boyes ever score as a Sabre? I believe he scored in his first game with us. It happens all the time: We make a trade and the new guy looks great for one game. I didn't notice her pitch being that bad, Yeah, it was. As in.... she never hits the note right off, she slides into it: "Oh say can you see-EEEEE...." The first part of "see" is the wrong note, they she has to fish around for it before she hits it. And she does that through the whole song. Just grates on my nerves, especially with her slow tempo.
SwampD Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Are we really criticizing a 12 year old who sings that well in front of thousands of people? I hate it when the Sabres suck.
nfreeman Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Thought that was the best passing I've seen by a Sabre this year. Fingers crossed he can develop some chemistry with Hodgson. Flynn just didn't know what to do with Omark's passes Same. I thought that line was our best, Foligno and Flynn I think. During OT I kept looking for him complaining the TN wouldn't put him out there. With 40 seconds left he finally gets a shift (after D'Agostini). SPLAT! Devasting. No easy road to the NHL. Omark has the best puck skills on this team (which ain't saying much, but still). I even saw him make a couple of plays in the defensive zone last night. Teddy might just be turning him into a real NHL player. Also, I could be wrong, but I thought I saw him get 2 shifts in OT last night.

Having said that, there is no denying Enroth is just an unlucky guy atm and is playing well He has been playing well and is a great backup, but I think he is getting just as lucky as he has been unlucky. Last night he was saved many times by the posts, and was also saved by the refs blowing a whistle because of an injured Panther. I can see Enroth having a career similar to someone like Biron, where they look good and can be a really good backup goalie, but they won't cut it as a full time starter
... Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Well, the quote function isn't working today, so I'll go olde skool... @Tankalicious & deluca; I just think Ott and Miller have a higher profile than Moulson, hence the reason I claim their resignings would look better than Moulson's. If Moulson has a rep league-wide, I think it's still tied to his pairing with Tavares, and that has kept his profile low. Moulson still has to earn a rep without Tavares being on his line. Just speculation based on what little I know, but since the premise is cache, reputation, and other things subjective, I think it's fair to speculate on who has more of a "name" across the league than others.
